Google, Post Katrina
Google updated the satellite coverage of New Orleans now to post Katrina, images taken about 4 months ago. Amazing to see how much destruction there is....still!

The area that shows up right away was the hardest hit area. The levy to the west burst. The blue on the houses are tarps; houses are being repaired. The small white rectangles scattered around are temporary living trailers for people with no where else to go.

Worked with someone who went for clean up almost a year after Katrina happened, and she said it still looked like a war zone. She's headed down that way again for a second effort within the next few months, and says the damage is still beyond description.
Talking to her is a real eye-opener, and those are just words, not even seeing it first-hand. Interesting post, Mike.
