good deal on used car?

i went to check out a 1990 Mercury Topaz L yesterday and it was in excellent shape.. very slight rust ... not even rust .. bubbling the size of the tip of my pinky on the quarter panels.. it has 131,xxx kms on it ..runs strong.. brakes may need replacing.. exhaust may have a leak ... power options, MINT interior, spare tire never used... its from a dealership .. for $1200... its coming certified/etest n everythin ... is this a good deal ? ..i'm goin to go check it out again on wed to finalize the deal.. anything else i should look out for ?.. any suggestions? .. is this a good deal ?

dont pay anymore then 200 bucks for it.. LOL I had a 1989 tempo - they are sh*t. But great winter cars. LOL

If you want that car pay no more then 1000 bucks. Decent for that price.

Thats about it.

go to the MTO, and ask for a used vehicle package for the car (you need the vin #)

On the sheet of info you get, will be a high and low price for that car.

$1200 is good for any car that's cert and e-tested. Mileage could have been turned back, and the main bearing on those cars likes to let go. But $1200 ain't bad at all.

Be careful. Those cars do have a lot of problems (I know a guy who had one, the engine fell OUT a few times). Don't beat on the thing to much if you buy it.
Goodluck.

u can get an 88-91 civic for $1200 cert/etested

and they are VERY realiable - but like to rust like any other 10-15 year old car

I've had good luck with my ford. I had a 1985 Crown Vic, unknown mileage... did brakes on it, and rear diff oil (had LSD), and changed the oil on it... drove it one winter and sold it. Brakes were expensive on that car, and gear oil STINKS

im just lookin for somethin that i can use in the winters... not something for a daily driver... so i'm pretty sure this will be fine.. i'm not gonna butcher the car or anything while drivin.. plus 1 yr warranty... n he said he's fixin the problems *brakes, exhaust) before sellin it.. so far i got nothin to worry bout .. i 'll sell it after the warranty is up if it starts actin up ...
