My grandmothers house is in Ponta Delgada, Sia Miguel....

My grandmother was talking to one of my uncles that lives back home and says the euro cup is sold out! He's got tickets of course! Anyways, I might be going down this summer thats if my parents plan to go ..

its awesome there. i was there 3 years ago.

u will eat alot of sea food. drink alot. hang out down in the city at night its the best there. u will see alot of large chested hot women there that are allways tanned. (make sure your G/f dont catch ya staring)

do alot of sight seeing its the best. hit the beaches thats mainly where the action is during the day. If your not tied down alot and u go out places you will enjoy it.

and tickets aren't sold out yet. but who cares i already got some!
too bad you aren't able to choose which game you want to watch.

anyway, its a blast down there, but there are different things to do on different islands, do you know which island you will be staying at?

acores drivers are way better than continent drivers from my experiences, but they lack paved roads. so expect a bumpy ride.

the plane tickets gonna cost like 300 from acores to continent i believe, and euro tickets are like 100-140 euros. a lot of money but well worth it!
so do you know which island ull be staying at?

nope.....they have a major highway (by their standards ) running almost from one end of the island to the other end. Also the inner portion of the city has been blocked off to cars (it is now a huge people pathway. There is also a huge outdoor pool and hotel/party complex at the end of the boardwalk. Alot of the roads leading into and out off the inner part of the city are paved (only the inner path of the city and outside the populized area, does it turn into cobblestone roads). Watch out for the blind curves/cliffs......they can really ruin your trip.

I've visted 3 of the islands over the years....been there MANY times, (uncle and aunt own 3 homes in São Miguel.....one right in the city, one in Furnas, and one in Lagua)

The islands are one of the most beautiful places in the world. And yes, you WILL eat alot when you are there. You have to love a place that has beer for less $'s than a Coke.

If you like snorkling, go to the old volcano called Ilheu de Vila Franca do Campo about 2 KM's off the island. Costs about $2 to have a small fishing boat take you there. Incredible.

SETE CIDADES (seven cities) is also another place to visit, but I hated the long drive there up around alot of curvy roads and cliffs. Great view though.

Also, don't forget to stop by the Furnas, (or the smelly place as my little cousins likes to call it) Try all the different types of "water" that runs from the many natural springs in the area. Stay away from the open hot springs.......cows have fallen in and been boiled alive. (a local rumour to keep the kids away).

faial has like 1 or 2 paved roads
pico don't remember, only spent a day there, drunk most of the time.

Went to Pico, São Miguel, and what my friends like to call "wood" island. (Medeira) They are all nice islands. Medeira is full of greenery and flowers, and São Miguel has turned into a mini party island on the weekends. Most of the clubs and bars stay open until 4pm, and some don't close until 6pm.
Beer, (hmmmmm) costs around 100-150 escudos (around $1.50 CAN.) Coke sometimes costs a bit more.

I remeber a case of coke in the supermarket was 1550 escudos, and a case of Sagres was 1250. Which one would you pick?

I don't remember much from the 4 weeks I stayed there. lol
