FORD: Quality Is Job 1

Girlfriend was complaining of a noise when she turned the wheel at low speeds. So I had a look for her and look what I found...luckily the dealership had the front springs in stock and I changed them....but what crap....its a 2000 that shouldn't happen ever.

i suspect those springs were assembled in a ford plant... most likely the cause of failure

I've seen some honda's with the similar problem.. although they had a million km's on them and were much older then a 2000.

you know, there is a saying in the world of automotive techs... I've heard this many times... even on TV shows and stuff.

about how you know a car is ready for the junkyard... if you have to replace the springs, or if the frame needs work. haha no joke. I guess it's time to junk that bad boy.

in all seriousness, I had to replace both rear springs on my 86 Jetta 2 door - I was driving down from ottawa to windsor, the back was loaded up with 4 17 inch rims (off my Civic back then) and a pile of other crap... anyways - the spring broke by the time I got to Windsor. that car was so pimp though, wish I had kept it.

I want a Mustang so much that it hurts my head.

which engine? i forget which but one of the engines that are available in the taurus and other cars are like bulletproof, same as the 3800 series from GM.

Actually the exact same thing happened on my dad's '00 windstar. He's friends with the owner of the dealership and he said that its a common occurance and usually happens when your parked.

His spring collapsed last summer, but the dealership paid for the replacement.
