finding somebody through there email
i recently got ripped off from a fellow member, not going to mention names but i wanna find out where they live to take further action and involve the police. I have 3 emails from them but they must of closed there hotmail account because when i try to email it it says theres no address. My question is is there anyway i can find where they live or are at using those emails? if i cant could the police? i was ripped off for more then 600! and im pissed and want action taken.

call the cops..
the cops will track the e-mail IF it was real..
if that don't work they can contact us, subpoena the ip they used (which is date stamped) so they will know exactly who it is by tracking back thru to the service provider
and why not mention names??
save someone else from going thru this bullshyt

People can fake an email details without any real issues.
Each email sent has the sender details, ie. IP Address. With the IP address the service provider ie. rogers. Can tell you which one of there user it was. However they won't release the info w/o a subpoena.
Also each post / PM you make on a web forum like this one logs the IP address of the sender. I would post the user name/real name/ and any other info you have to help protect other people.

is it just the "e-mail displayed" or have you actually been able to reply to it in the past as well?? you didn't indicate as to whether you've had prior 2-way e-mail communication
maybe after the first e-mail you contacted them thru the phone??
i dunno, you didn't elaborate so i'm left to assume

Not that I've done it in the past when dealing with sellers from TCC, what people usually do is meet somewhere by car, so take his license plate # if you have 2 especially when you're spending that much $ on parts from a total stranger. My 2 cent.

DAMN THAT suks...i dont think the cops would get involved for 600 bucks especially with an issue that deals with tracking someone through an email address...they dont do much if it doesnt involve someone life being in danger yada yad...thats jus how the system is....
take a hit bro n jus learn from it...

Obviously, there's got to be a reason that he's not posting his username on here. Like Terry said, maybe he rather want to take care of this for himself but looking for a way to flush this MF out not neccessarily involving the cops. Either that or you're a stalker or some sort looking for someone's address through an e-mail address.
