I love my dad, but we just don't work well together. Can't say 5 complete sentences before it turns into a brawl Not really, but... I just don't like working with other ppl, but anytime I've done something really really difficult, it's always been my dad by my side My dad is #1

I work at my dad's engineering firm. Well theres no "owner", he's the president. I've been here every summer since I was 14 yrs old. I'm goin on 21 now. Its pretty large, so I don't really see him much during the day.
I work in the IT dept., but I always have AutoCAD work and computer related repair work always on the go. Right now I have 4 PC's appart that need repair (I'm taking a little break from that )
I usually have 2-3 summer jobs, but this year I decided to just stick with this one. Just recently I received a nice raise, so the money is pretty sick.
Its a great part time/summer job because I'm in university.

I've worked in the same company as my mom before and it wasn't all that bad. I had to do a lot of work closely in relation to her and I admit that there were some days where we wanted to kill each other because of various reasons. We survived though... after a few months I got booted into another office (but the same company) and I still had to do a lot of work in conjunction with her and I think that having that separation was good coz there weren't as many arguments (not that there were that many to begin with).
So I'm sure that those of you that have problems with working with parents can survive... maybe just go out more at night so that you don't hafta see them as much??

I've worked for my dad, operated printing presses from time to time to help him out ... ussually I just do as I'm told because he has way more experince then me and therefore I figure he'd know better ... he's my role model in life...the only time I can't stand working for him is when he starts on the stories of some of his students (when he used to teach) having arms and fingers stucked in and amputated by the presses .... it's gross...

i use to work for my parents all the time, they own a small company so it could be stressful at times b/c it's like you never leave work, even at dinner sometimes work is discussed
although, i think it was much worse when my brother worked for them b/c him and my dad don't see eye to eye on anything

For some reason sons and dads just don't see eye to eye on anything It's sick, but Sigmond Freaud (fawk, how do you spell the bastards name ) You know... the phychiatrist that came up with the idea that on some subconcious level a son will compete with his dad for attention. It could be true cuz I don't know one guy who gets along with his dad too well...
