Ethernet card question(s)

Gf just signed up with Bell Sympatico's DSL Basic package and needs to get a PCI ethernet card.

We've checked online and have seen differing prices between $10 (Canada Computers) and $30 (Futureshop).

She doesn't need anything fancy. What's the difference in ethernet cards anyways??

Here's the specs of the one from Canada Computers

SMC1244TX - Fast Ethernet PCI Network Card

SMC1244TX offers the most affordable Fast Ethernet card on the market today for servers and workstations. It is simple and easy to use. It offers the advantage of upgrading your network to 100Mbps speed when it is connected to a Fast Ethernet hub or switch. It features auto-negotiation, full duplex support, diagnostics LEDs, optional Boot Rom, and 32-bit PCI bus master operation. SMC1244TX is the simplest and most cost-effective solution for you to future proof your network.

Is this one any good??

no diff for your GF. Just get the cheaper one. there are no visible advantages aside features you will hardly use.

ethernet is ethernet. Service is more important I think. Like DSL 3.0MB.
