Question DVD Burner & Software

ok so i got a dvd burner, 20 dvd-r's, and 5 dvd-rams now i got a good program for ripping movies, but i want to clone a dvd exactly. with all the menus, all the sound channels and exact picture quality... I don't know what to use. I tried copying the VIDEO_TS from shawshank to my HD then burning it on to a dvd-r, but they only hold 4.7 gigs and the movie is 6.9. Now that'll fit on a dvd-ram but my dvd player doesn't play thoes.

So is there a program that'll let me do that?

Wut about burning xbox or ps2 games? I'm lookin at DVD Wizard Pro and DVD X Copy Platinum.

there is no way to duplicate DVD unless u use a special software www.dvdxcopy.com, i use it and never had one problme.. own over 300dvd's

before copying you dvd's u need to know what your player can read "dvd+r or dvd-r"

u also want to check what is you burner compatible with +r or -r

ex: all HP writers support +r only.

as for ps2 and xbox. theres alot more work then just duplicating the disc. "xbox" more info www.xbox-scene.com

good luck...

There should be a program that will allow you to shrink the original DVD file so it will fit on the 4.7GB DVD-R disk. A friend of mine burns DVD's so I know that you need 2 separate programs, one to rip and burn the file and the other to shrink it. Not sure about the names of any these programs though.

manufactured DVDs can hold more data than retail DVD-R etc!
so u have to find a wat to shrink it and when u shrink it u either lose quality or lose extra material like menus or audio chanelles! so u can never make an exact duplicate of a manufactured DVD!

Those movies and menus are processed with DVD 9 if you want to fit it all on a 4.7g dvd u have to find something that will convert it to dvd 5.

actualy if you guys read my post you will see that i refered to www.dvdxcopy.com

sure it compresses but only the extra features, the movie is the same. i rent and i copy and always watch the copy and never once did i notice any different,

now some movies are extremely difficult to compress and in that situation u can jut copy the movie "no menu no extra features"

personaly i dont care about the features.

when i try to copy a movie that will not compress due to protection. i copy the menu/audio and movie.

www.dvdxcopy.com beleive me it works. buy the platinum. and they have excellent support. http://forum.321studios.com

as for your modchip. i get all of mine from www.modchip.ca

excellent serive and fast.

Another program that is good and free, is called DVD Shrink. Do a google for it. I use it all the time. Better than DVD X Copy.

It will allow you to remove unwanted audio streams, like dolby digital french, spanish, subtitiles etc. which allows you to save space on the disc and compress the actual movie less.

alcohol 120% works the best for me for backing up ps2 games and dvd x copy xpress works great for backing up movies...now this dvd shrink I have never heard of but I like what I'm hearing!

oh yea, good media will make burning a much more pleasant experience...I have had no problems with Eagle brand dvd-r 25pack for 30.99...stay away from princo and memorex...and while burning disable any antivirus progz and disable your screen saver...****, just turn every program off except the burning one...less headaches that way

good luck burning!

Sorry meant to reply earlier..
I had an older version of DVDXPressCopy, so I went to a store called Kazaa Lite and "bought" the newest version and it worked fine

u get version 3.2.1.0 platinum? if so did u have a hard time unlocking it, took me forever to get the keygen to work properly. had to set computers date back... i forget who it was cause i erased the PM but they said they were a computer master and that x copy is so protected that its un-crackable... but every program is crackable.. its sorta funny cause i know how to get around a computer, but not super good at them and i managed to crack it.

I do this process for my dvds

1. Dvd Decryptor
-rip movie to HD
2. DVD Shrink
- cut out unwanted things like trailers, xtra audio and whatnot
3. Copty To DVD
-Burn new movie on to a DVD-R

And ALL menus are intact.

Here's a thread about my success with pics

http://www.torontocivics.com/tccforu...+were+soldiers

AND if you want to put more than one movie onto a DVD-R there's another program to use. You won't have the fancy menus but you can make your own too.

PM me if you want to know more.
