Question Donnie Darko

Has any one seen this movie??? I'm slightly confused... Was there alot of symbolism in the movie which I don't understand??? Can anyone help me here before the sky opens up and world ends???

the reason why he didnt go, because he would have missed his injection and since he doenst wanted to mess up his cycle he didnt go.

How the hell did this 8 year old thread about Donnie Darko end up about Pumping Iron with no one answering the OP question?
