Custom Big Brake work

Ok, We have a 62 lesabre that just went into Altered Altitude Customs for a full bag setup, but now the next project is to upgrade the braking system.

Does anyone know anywhere around here that can build a custom high performance 4 wheel disc setup for such a car? I have searched and no kits are available - we are looking for either brembos, wilwoods, or even some kvr calipers and big rotors. Our 14 inch drums all around wont cut the cake once the big 18's and 20's are on.

I have emailed www.kvrperformance.com and this is our last resort to take it up to ottawa to be done.

Comments pls..

Thanks

Joe

OMG that's hot. You don't need a custom setup. There is a TON of old car kits for all GM vehicles. Two companies come to mind that do domestic muscle conversion kits hardcore.... SSBC and BEAR. BEAR is prolly your best bet. Guys on Overhaulin' and Hot Rod TV and shows like that use BEAR kits all the time. Or check out HotRodsUSA too for brake kits.

Bbarbulo, I emailed a guy at Baer, he stated that i needed to find out if our car has the same spindles as a 62 impala - thing is i have no idea how to compare them exactly. Im gonna rip it apart once it comes back from AAC.

Im mostly looking for a shop and a person capable of doing this install. Time is of the essence - its worth us paying someone to do it right the first time. Should be pretty pimp with this setup!

BAER brakes on the Overhaulin' 442 that I saw in Huntington Beach this summer. They looked like nice pieces, fo sho.

62 Lesabre is a B-body car according to this site: http://www.classicbuicks.com/body_style.htm

Bbarbulo listed the below cars that are of the same B-body style(X-frame).
1958-1964 Chevrolet, Bel Air, Biscayne & Impala

Therefore main chassis parts SHOULD be interchangeable, including the brakes/associated kits.

ya esp back then they buit so many cars off the same platform. much like the G body of the 80s was like.... 6 or 7 different cars on the same frame.

but if you insist on paying someone, contact dreamcar garage. I can't think of anyone better qualified than those guys.

That sounds like such a sick project. I know Concepts has a bunch of older cars there on bags. There's one I always see outside. Looks somewhat like an old Lincoln Continental, but it isn't. They might have what you're looking for.

Hmm.. Im gonna give one of baers sales guys a call.. As for the kit - can only see the front brakes being an issue, because that depends on spindles.. as for the rear - we should just be able to fab a bracket to the axle tube itself.

Ill post some pics once AAC gets it together.. basically we are going for a clean look - stock interior (factory salmon color) with some custom paint big brakes and big hp coming soon..
Should be a fun ride.

I fired off an email to dreamcar garage.
