I think tcc has to take a look at the paypal script...yesterday I got a warning pop up about paypal on this site about security warnings etc...i didnt pay it much attention I thought it was just a random pop up thing but now that this has come up it might be a real threat

The script is fine.

When you click the PayPal button to pay your membership fees, it takes you the PayPal's website.
Like Brian stated, your card could have been compromised anywhere; I doubt it was a result of using PayPal (to pay your membership fees).

paypal, sucks ***, there is no consumer protection.!!!
people on here barely use it thats why they never had problems, the transaction solely depends on where, when and to who you buy from.
most people are probably lucky, but the largest internet scammers outhere prey on pay pal. i know from experiance, i used to use pay pal like a debit card system till one day i got fk. Someone had taken my card number and used it to the max, and i had no protection from pay pal, if it wasn't for my bank i would have owed 10 grand on my visa.
so its not pay pal, its who is using the pay pal on the otherside, and yes this happens more to guests as you have to give you crdit card info and all. the bad thing is that pay pal has no protection thats where people get fed.
and anyone can scam anyone if they want to, after i had got my visa situation, i went back and baught more from that one person, and then complained to my bank i didn't recieve anything, so they said they have to wait 30 days before they can give me the money back, so i message the seller, to send me the parts and electronics 3 months from now, as im going on vacation, so i get my money back on my visa, plus i put a complaint on pay pal, and ended the dispute as the seller didn't reply, well i got my pay pal money back too.lol and 2 months later i got the stuff i baught too for free.

To chime in on where Forsale was going, PayPal is NOT your friend. I deal with some e-commerce websites that use PayPal as their sole gateway.
Just a small example happen several months ago, a client of mine called me up late in the night at 3 am freaking out that PayPal froze his account. I could understand why he was freaking, he had 30k + in sales in his PayPal account...
It turned out one of his customers was unsatisfied with something and instead of contacting him, the bitch went straight to PayPal. PayPal quickly froze his account and he had to deal with their bull**** procedure. Skip ahead 2 months they unfroze his account and he had access to his account.
Of course, I told him NOT to use PayPal but he wanted something that seemed "cheap" or "free". He learned his lesson, converted over to something else and I got more work outta him.
In short:
1. If you keep large amounts in PayPal, you are at their mercy.
2. Keep your funds to a min. in the account.
3. Don't use your normal banking account with them. Hook up a secondary account, I have a PCF account I use solely for them and other purchases.
4. It doesn't matter if you had no problems with them in the past, all it takes is for one ***** to **** talk you for PayPal to freeze and even clean out your account out.

I keep PayPal contact info on a sticky note at my work PC here, that's how much I've dealt with them on behalf of other people.....sigh.

and also, it would help if you add a prepaid master card. Load up how much you know your gonna spend on the prepaid and your safe.... I lost about 4bills from paypal, cause of NSF charge. Which was pretty much my fault, cause of my bank daily limits, so that screwed me over. But other then that... Its alright. And to add, i had 2 problems from sellers that would not ship me my stuff, went to paypal and open a disput and everything got solved. Its not really paypal thats screwing you over, its the other people on the other end not sending me my ****...

Sent a collections agency after me, but good thing I found the site www.paypalsucks.com which had a plethora of information on how to deal with the collections agency part. Filed a report to RECOL and end of story, I stopped using paypal for life.
