I have a couple of questions...

1) is there any other reason that my computer keeps logging me out of this site all the time other than it keeps losing the cookies? My security setting is on Low and I've set it to always accept cookies from the torontocivics.com domain... I have no idea why it keeps doing this..

2) I have a virus that is giving me popups and gave me a search bar at the top of my IE window... now i know there are a ton of freebie virus spam scanners out there, but i'm wondering if there is an online one, cuz my dad thinks everything we install is a virus so he'll delete something if I d/l it and I don't want to keep downloading it installing/uninstalling the prog...

i juss use norton system works to scan for viruses, fix problems, defrag, etc every couple of months. it should do the trick. i had a virus once...detected it when i scanned with norton then juss "got rid of it" with the recommended program.

i used to have popups too.. get spybot from kazaa.. i got it and it took it all away plus that sutpid bar.. now to prevent this from happening again .. stop going on cheap **** sites

Not sure about Q#1....but I just bought Macafee online for $42 CDN a year, and upon activation it found all kinds of viruses on my computer.

I tried norton to no avail, i got it for free ( I have a Dell )

anyone else have FREE online options?

spybot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it will remove popups and the bar on your computer ..

so what.. dl it install it .. it will get rid of everything. then get rid of it.. it will save you the headache of popups... it takes a couple minutes

Hrmmmm, I don't think there is any online spyware searcher avaliable.

Your best bet is to either download AdAware 6.0 (LavaSoft), or the SpyBot Search and Destroy program. Both are for free, and will fix your extra bar in IE.
