Career Question

Hi Guys,

just need an opinon,

I want to go in to race machanics or something around those lines, i want to try and get in to a mcmaster/mohawk joint program called Automotive and Vehicle Technology http://www.mohawkcollege.ca/calendar...toVehTech.html

i dont want to be in a lab doing R&D allday long, id rather be in a shop with a wrench, so i was thinking about maybe going to a place like wyotech for race mechanics.

What Do You Guys Think

Thanks For The Advice

how about you work in a shop first to see if you really wanna turn wrenches all day and if you even any good at it...then perhaps apprentice and go to school and get your ticket, build cars in the meantime and prove yourself that you are race team ready and not some joe shmoe shadetree mechanic

well then get your ticket first, prove yourself...show that you are a hi-performance able mechanic, in that industry you gotta know people and have hard evidence of the work you have done...or just get super lucky and/or know people that can get you in

otherwise you will just be another mechanic

do your apprenticeship, you will go to school for that anyways and your shop that you are apprenticeshipping at might pay for it or you can get the government grant...wyotech is just like devry, pay out your **** and then get and regular job...mohawk is the school you will be attending for your apprenticeship schooling anyways
