Safeway Travel also has NYC tours all the time. If you can afford to stay longer, I would take the NYC Shopping Trip (if they still offer it), it is a 4 day 3 nights trip and you get to stay in a hotel near Jersey airport (all 3 nights, Marriott I believe), so there is no need to pack your luggage every morning. Really easy going aside from shopping, you still get to see the city.

with today's gas prices + the headache of having to drive 8-10 hours I'd rather not.
You can get 2-3 night packages that include hotel in jersey + return trip bus fare for a couple hundred bucks for 2 people. The cost of gas alone makes it worth it.

I recently flew to NYC with Porter from the Toronto Island, about $300 roundtrip including taxes.
(Technically they fly to Newark, NJ, but it is quick to get into NYC from there).
Porter was amazing, from getting to Union Station I was in my hotel room in NYC about 3 hours later (as opposed to getting to Pearson and still being at Pearson three hours later, lol). I know you asked about buses, but if you can get a flight it is very efficient. Check out the Pod hotel on 51st, nice place and very reasonable considering its location.

flew from buffalo to jfk 85bucks...upgraded seats too, nuff leg room...its silly to sit in a cramped bus or car for 8-10hours when u can sit in a comfy jet for 45min...you get an extra day or 2 out of your trip too cuz of the time you save

He's right. My wife and a few of her friends went down to the US (when the CND dollar was above par to US dollar) taking the Greyhound and she said it was the worst experience she had ever encountered. They had to wait for some stupid broad that was 1 hour late getting back to the bus before heading back to the border. While there, they had to wait for another 5 hours at the border office for everyone to be inspected. DO NOT TAKE THE BUS!!! You've been warned!
