Brand new cruise ship in Florida almost pulls a Titanic!

My parents and brother were on that boat yesterday. I was watching CNN last night regarding this incident, while my dad called from the ship to tell me what had happened. Very scary ****!! My brother was on the top deck with his friends playing some basketball, he told me when the ship started to tilt, everyone on top was hanging onto anything they could find. The boat lifted then did a 45 degree tilt! On a ship such as this, that's enough to send everything flying! My mom got cut up, but got stitched up later yesterday. They arrive back on an emergency flight in Buffalo later this afternoon, and I'll get the full details then. They were supposed to be back tomorrow, this was the last few days of their trip.

I definately don't regret staying home!

If I went I'd probably be the only fatality.

wow that's crazy man, glad to hear your fam is alright...

i'm really curious to see what caused that... i highly doubt it was as simple as just a steering problem...

yeah I'd love to know what caused the list.

Anyways since it happened in American waters you can expect that the class action law suits will be flying now. make sure to get your parents signed into one if they sustained injuries ...

You should have went man! Then when it comes time for the lawsuit\insurance you could tell them you Ipod, Digital Camcorder and Camera, Cell phone, Laptop, Rolex, Platinum Chain, Wallet with $1000 cash, and Diamond Studded earings all fell in the water when the boat tipped.

I really don't know what will happen. I spoke to my dad three times since, and he briefly said the cruise line is paying for everything. I'm sure they will be well compensated for any damaged goods. My brother took with him a new iPod, that hopefully broke. :-)

If I was on that trip, you better believe I'd be claiming alot of damaged goods. I'm sure they'll make out pretty good after this. If they get another free trip, I'd definately be going. They usually go on 2 cruises a year, on the Princess line, which has traditionally been very well equipped, and costs a **** load of $$$! This was a brand spankin' new ship too... strange that this would happen.

I'm going to the Buffalo airport in a few hours to pick them up. I hope nothing happens to their flights now...
