go into the bios and set the first boot device as cdrom. put xp cd or whatver in drive and reboot.. it "Should" read off the cdrom and go into the setup..
If your cd are BAD pirated versions of xp or win98 then yer gonna need to boot into dos, extract your files (prolly rars with cabs) to C and run setup from there. doubt they made any crappy xp versions though.

if you got XP off the net good luck getting it to boot, same with any other OS, but you can make a bootable copy of it if you use CDRWIN or Nero etc and get the special bootable program and burn the cd with that, I made a couple bootable cds that way.

Windows XP doesnt have a bootdisk...the only way that you may be able to do it is if you burn the "boot files" from microsoft.com onto a cd...there is no way that its going to fit on a floppy...check it out...the file is about 4megs large and you will have to get your pc to boot first from the cd rom in your bios...
Why do you need the boot disk? What is exactly the problem? i may be able to help you...if you need to reinstall XP your best be is to format C:

So how come when I powered up the computer I saw windows 98 but it was fuxed up so it wouldnt boot properly?
Damn people, then he told me he cant install windows 98 cuz any harddrive bigger than 70 wont work I was like it wont reconize it but it willl work he said no it wont (yet I got it to work)
damn people should know their stuff before talkin
