lol guess thats true, but not nearly as many people care as they did years ago.

They are basically giving tickets away for free and still are having trouble getting people to come.

$2 dollar tuesday and still sales are low, weakkkk.

This is true, but they have to start somewhere to get it back. They probably won't see the same numbers in attendance as they did in the early 90's, but there is more of a buzz about them than there has been and they have made the moves to compete. Given time, I think they will do well.

What about Toronto FC?

Thats going to burn up the jays as well.....

I went to one game this year, and that is because the ticket was free......

Jays games are great. Last time I went I got pissed drunk and we had seats behind the yankees dugout and I was thowing peanuts at Randy Johnson. He told some security guard and we got kicked out.......it was the bottom of the 9th anyways....

Jays lost that game....it was near the end of the season.....

Whats better than a $12 go-train or whatever it was to and from the game ? $12 blue jay game including transportation there and back FTW !

Randy Johnson getting peanuts thrown at him, FTW !

I hope the jays can get more popular with big names like this, im not a big fan of baseball but it would be great for the city and sport in toronto if it had more attendance.

Toronto FC, I dont think will draw lots of fans and I dont think will be that popular. I guess we will see how long it lasts.

It's all about marketing yourself, remember Canceco? We paid him peanuts and he had an awesome year, left and got paid the next year. Again, its a gamble you take, we will see what happens if the deal gets done.

I didn't expect them to be interested in him. They have been building for the future, and he is just like a short term plug.
I wonder if it will happen.

Are you serious?
Wow, that seems like a lot for an old player with a history of injuries.
They need a good starter to replace Lilly (assuming Lilly leaves), I thought that would be their focus.

come on it's Frank Thomas... I think he would draw fans above all else.

Big names matter...don't ever forget the 92/93 Jays...Alomar, Cone, Carter, Winfield, Morris, Molitor, Wells, Key...

Effteedoubleyoo (like you fellas say)

-Jays need some more frontliners.

Yeah, you are also talking about an era where people were going to games regardless.

It's not the same anymore. We had Conseco and Clemens at one point, did the numbers increase? Yes, but not much.

The days of drawing big crowds like that I believe are gone, unless they start to contend and actually make the playoffs. Doesn't matter who they bring in.
