1995 Eagle Talon Compared To 1993 Honda Prelude

Just want some stats. I have been eye balling these Eagle Talons. I saw a nice one for sale on autotrader. It was a '95 ESi 140,000km on it for just under 7g. I want to know if it is a better buy over a prelude which is like 10g. Also what engine swaps could you perform on these talons since those kms are the lowest ones i have seen and most likely i will pick one up with a ton more of km on it.

If you get a Talon, the only one to get is an AWD TSI. Any other is just pointess (and there are lots of AWD TSI's around).

The preludes are blah and boring to me. My dad got a '92 SR when he hit his so called mid life crisis haha. My bro was jealous cause he was drivin his lil CRX to highschool haha. The car wasn't very quick, and somewhat dull looking. I never like Preludes.

I would also like some specs on both cars so i can compare. I am seroiusly in the new market for a car. I want to figure out which car i want, and how much money i will need for it. I really do like these eagles and want to compare them. On autotrader i didnt see any TSI AWD... I only say ESi and they werent to expensive. I want a cheap one. Well price wise if you get what im saying but in good condition. I dont want to pay a lot. And also for the eagle was upgrades coudl you do for the engine to make it more powerful.

Dont get an ESI, they are underpowered, as promoking said if ur going to get a talon get a TSI AWD, i also have always found preludes also dull, the 95s-96 dsm styling leaves something to be desired, the 97-98 styling was much nicer. If u want my opinion theres a 90 TSI AWD with original paint and only 130k km in the trader from a dealer for only 4500, the 1gs have more potential to go faster, with some free mods, a downpipe, exhaust and boost controller u can run mid 13s. If u get a dsm just be prepared to spend more maintaning them than a honda

I did look at the older Talons, but i am not a fan of their styling. I like the styling of the '95 and above. That is the reason i was looking at them due to their cheapish price as well as their nice styling.

I am finding it very difficult to get a ball park range in what i need to get, money wise. Right now im just looking around trying to get a good idea, but atm i havent gotten any.

^^^ I dont want an expensive one. Like i said their almost 7g ESi caught my eye for their price, km, and condition. THat is the only reason i started considering them.

When I plan on buying this car is around spring time. I am going to save my money. And drive my parents car for now. During the winter and fall. WHen spring comes is when i am going to get the car. Right now i am just shopping around trying to find best deals and such and how much i will need. Also specs would be great on both cars. Im trying to compare.

ESis are garbage, only get 97+ eclipse cause of the body, looks badass and turbo'd and AWD.
Like Torrey said, if money is a problem, dont buy one.

TSIs are the only way to go, older ones can be found cheap!

Talons are fun.. but youll run into problems like all cars but maybe a bit more than others... just make sure you dunt turn the boost too high.. they can handle pretty insane amounts haha.. my buddy had two.. blew one up .. the other runs ok.. but still there are small problems

Yeah i am just looking for at least a '95+ Talon. Just because I like their styling more than the older ones. Thats the thing. And looking on autotrader that is hard to find a TSi.

Now how much would a Tsi put out in hp wise. What could be done to the engine to make it faster, just a couple of mods and such. Also engine swaps possible? Or what to do with 160,000km on the car. That is what most of them are.

I used to ***** on those boards.... great place to start...

also www.notabusinessracing.org....

Yes mose people with 2g dsm's swap in the JDM 6bolt motor's, to prevent crankwalk. Every 2g talon/eclipse WILL at one point or another develope crankwalk.

Also who is Eagle Talon made by? I was talking to some other people on another Honda bored out in Vancouver, and they were saying how the Prelude would be the better buy. ANd how the Talon is more of a domestic. The only half decent buy would be the turbo one. I am trying to understand this whole crankwalk and stuff about how the turbo ruins the engine. What would you need to do to the engine in order to keep it fine and such?
