Is it worth it?

Is it even worth putting a B16 into a 91 si with 435K on it?

A 91 Si with 435k's has no resale. A decent motor might add some value.

performance mods or mods in general don't add value to a car, if anything it devaluates the car...
if thinking of selling don do it, save the money and dmp it into the car uwant...

But a 91Si with that many k's on it couldn't be worth more then a few hundred bucks. With a decent motor it might increase it's value a bit. The motor will still probably be worth more then the car though.

while that may be true, the consensus seems to say it does add... just take a look at how many people boost the prices of they're heavily modded civics for outrageous $$ and they do sell

well it devaluates unless you sell privately to someone who want a don up car already and thats not often...
also why would you do such a mod knowing your going to sell it...

If your swapping and at the same time, have the intentions of selling the thing, then don't do it b/c you'll lose out at the end no matter what (150k or 400k). Even si's with 200K and B16's still sell for like 3 grand, even less. If your swapping the motor and keeping the car for a while, like 2 years, then it's worth it at the end imo.
It also depends on the body of your car. If it's in rough shape then don't bother. If the body is clean, you'll eventually sell it for decent money, but you'll probably still be losing out unless you got the chassis for dirt cheap.

Best of luck

91 si with 435K on it is worth at about $1000....and i dont want to hear ur pathetic **** its a si, and all this ****, when u can buy a 99-00ek for $5000-6000 clean, and original everything, how do i know cuz my bro paid last year from a dealership all original for a 99 ek $5500 with everything...tax, papers, etest, certif.

to add a 91 si with 435K with a B16($1500 value) is worth at a max of $2000 since.....its not the orginal motor, and well people are afraid to buy cars that have swaps cuz they are prolly beat on, i suggest u get a newer civic, spend the money on getting a newer car not a motor.......+ honda scene is dying down slowly....nissans are the thing now....till cops start profiling them

lol, thats a good one

i dont think thats a good idea personally b/c what if the frame is crap??, like holes...that was the main reason there r not many honda preludes from 1983-1991 on the roads cuz the frames would have a hole or 2, and maybe the floor might be bad and u just dont know. i would drive till it dies and then buy a a newer civic, b/c u wont get the money most people are looking to get when they do that swap...my friends 1990 civic si had 300kms on the body, and a b16a with about 85kms after taking it out and he trash the car and sold the motor everything complete for 1100, and he gave the guy the 92-95 si hub caps free

Awww..no one even mentioned me??? I had a B16 in my 92 EX-V civic with 480,000kms... drove it a year (to florida and back twice as well) never put a penny into it besides mods, and sold it with 130k on the engine, over 500k on the body for 7000.00
