worth it?

i was just looking in the trader and i came across an '88 rex with zc engine and tranny, racing clutch, 199k, not running, needs wiring harness, $600. Would the wiring harness and labour be expensive? is this a big problem? i'm just wondering if it would be worth a 2 hour drive to go check it out

Cynikal.Mindset 28-Jun-2004 09:01 PM

call and ask questions first...cuz it might be a rust bucket and a half

orange87 28-Jun-2004 09:14 PM

the add also says good exterior, mint interior, and rust isnt a problem, my dad and I can do the bodywork

90hatchsi 28-Jun-2004 09:15 PM

depends on what they consider "good".

Gunmetalef 28-Jun-2004 10:58 PM

do it up and make your own harness

DJTre 29-Jun-2004 01:05 AM

yeah man, surface rust is fine...but make sure it doesn't have any underbody rust or holes.

Sounds like a good deal to me if the body is in good shape.

snieser 29-Jun-2004 07:10 PM

I also seen that but i was not sure about the amount of the harness.

Mr. Wright 02-Jul-2004 07:54 PM

crap, could be anything man.... look into it and ask a lot of q's..

CRXlover 02-Jul-2004 11:48 PM

From my experience at looking at CRXs when people say "good" in actuality the car is a rusty POS, most people dont have a clue what a good CRX looks like

imported_bevboyy 04-Jul-2004 12:54 AM

Really, Really, really check the floors and A pillar and the underside of the rockers. Rust is the major cancer on the CRX. You can pull a wiring harness off any 4th gen civic and modify it to fit..

imported_Neiser 04-Jul-2004 09:51 AM

^^^ when you say modifiy .... how much work you looking at?

imported_94EG6HB 04-Jul-2004 09:59 AM

Less than a day..
