so with winter comming, so does the snow, salt, and sand....as for washing the car what do you find better to do.... now would you still go to the coin-op for a do it your self... or how about ones at the gas station....2 types...drive through...or the one the you park in and the machine goes around you...and how offen would you wash your car

i still wash it myself because i dont trust those stupid machines to get all the salt and dirt out properly from the wheel wells, etc.

coin-op ... depending on how cold it is... if the water doesn't freeze too quick when you're in the bay then .. otherwise not at all.. I've heard too many horror stories with gas station drive thru car wash's

my first choice would be coin-op

second choice is gas station car washes that are "touch free". for those living in sauga there is one at an esso on the corner of mavis and eglington.

Coin up, you can concentrate the wash on some areas that need extra attention.

And I wash it once a week.

then i had to get gas, that was a bitch to do... my door froze... b/c after midnights.... when i got off my shift it was -15

One thing I don't like about coin op is the hose always bangs on the car when you use the foam brush. Oh well, it is winter, what can I say.

I go back to work and use the heated shop with hot and cold water, its mint and only a few minutes from home. Although occasionally i use the coin op if the build up of snow under the car is big enough, then i blast it off with the high pressure

dont fit? as in too low? they have washes that dont use tracks , the thing goes around the car and u drive it through yourself

Joker: those suck too. I once saw a guy I know go through there with his car and nail the side rails. His whole car is widebody and molded. Needless to say he had a few grand in damages from the $5 car wash.

all I do in winter is go to a coin-op, put in the $3, and just rinse the car off, giving special attention to places where salt builds up.


theres no point in washing your car so its spotless in winter, its going to be covered again in 2 days

Coin washes are the best in the winter.....cheap and quick....$2-4 bucks, rinse and roll.
