Will I fit!? Recommended models?

Hey guys, I was just looking at buying at buying a 95-00 Civic. I like the possibilities of styles with the Hatchback models, however, I also really like the coupe style.

With that being said, I'm 6'4" tall and I wanted to know if anyone can vouche for being that tall and fitting comfortably in any of the hatchback models.

Also, does anyone recommend any models for me to look at (I'm looking for a car thats good for me and my buddies just to mess around in ...get from point a to point b, not racing lol... but also have a sporty feel, maybe even a little bit of performance.

Thanks for all of the help!

First off, Welcome to the club.

The 96-00 civic hatch and coupe have basically the same chassis/uni-body (at least the same from the the b-pillar to the front bumper), so I would assume the space you have in the front seat will be the same in both.

Welcome to the club !!

You should fit , but why not just go to any used car dealership and sit on the car

I like the coupe better than the hatch but it really depends on your own taste. Personally i don't like hatchbacks unless it is the 92 model

If you want to play around with the car maybe get an SI or SIR.. The sir is a DOHC with 160 hp. The SI its like 130 hp with SOHC .

If I had to buy another ek , I would just buy an sir or a civic with a gsr engine in it to avoid having to replace the whole engine .

good luck

to TCC.

I'm 6'4 too, and find the hatchback a bit small.
I'M KIDDING.
(With a good set of heels, maybe close to 5'11". )

rick10 made a good point about going to dealerships and trying a car on for size.
You'll find a lot of good suggestions here on the forum, too.

I've loaned my 96 sedan to a 6'5" friend a couple times while I borrowed his truck and he had no issues... I didn't even know the seats would go back that far :P

Haha!

That's awesome! I'm happy to hear, and good suggestion.. I didn't really think of just going to a dealer and trying it out. Thanks for the recommendations on the models and cars. I was trying to look at the Si's. It's really just coming down to whether I want a coupe or hatch now. The only thing to decide that is the difference in winter driving. I've heard that the hatch has pretty low clearance and has issues with getting stuck in snow drifts same deal with the coupe?... anyone know?

Thanks for all of the help guys!

Welcome to the forum.
Yes you will fit, just make sure no one is sitting in the seat behind you, because they will be cramped.......or they could be comfortable and you could be driving with your knees at your steering wheel

!!

Haha, thanks for the reassurance. Being the height that I am, I'm quite familiar with having my knees grinding the dashboard. I've even been known to turn off the ignition in the newer jeep grand cherokees lol.

Been driving my slammed 2000 SiR for 4 years now, winters included.

With a good set of snow tires, you shouldn't have any major issues. I got through just fine and I live up north of the city where we usually get a pretty good dumping of snow. Snow tires are KEY in winter driving.

You're 6 foot 4 inches tall so need head and leg room?
Want to be able to carry your buddies around with you?
Not racing but want to have a sporty feel?

Hahaha, when I posted this post originally all I could think of was that line where the extremely tall guy gets out of the clown car on the simpsons, and Nelson laughs at him.
