Who likes it in the rear?

Sooo... it was my birthday on Friday, the 13th. I was on my way to Toronto for some partying, traveling East on the 401 from Kitchener. Some cops were on the side of the road, so we all slowed down. The speed picked up again, but then the car in front of me started slamming on their brakes suddenly. I was able to clear the car in front of me okay with some help of my ABS, lol. After a second, I felt a bump on the back end of my car. I was rear ended.

Worst thing is that it was a woman driving behind me, we were both in the fast lane, and she swerved right instead of onto the shoulder? Smashed in my right taillight--took of a good chunk of my car up to the back wheel.

My poor Civic is now lonely in the shop because it's not fit to drive at this point. I'm currently rocking a 4 door (hahaha) 2010 Corolla. It's automatic, which made me laugh SO HARD when I started driving it at first. They ACTUALLY shift at 3500 RPM's to gear up... EVERY TIME!!! Good thing my brother showed me a way of revving it higher to make it a little cooler/faster. lmao

Thank GOD she said it was all her fault when I got out of the car to examine the damage.

Point is: Does anyone know about a 'Shawson Auto Body Repairs' place in Mississauga? If so, any thoughts about them?

Happy Birthday to me.

Sorry to read about what happened. Hope it all gets fixed up properly. Important thing is that you weren't injured, and hopefully the woman who hit your car was ok, as well.

I would totally blame the cops for this one..
I see the cops checking people and pulling people over on off ramps and on ramps on highways all the time..
This is dangerous, because people just suddenly stop... and if a car doesnt see you BAM !

On a side note, happy belcated.

You have NO idea, at one of our meets, we were speeding up to get on the ramp for the highway (because you are suppose to, to keep up with the flow of highway traffic) when all of a sudden cops are doing drunk driving checks on the on ramp, which made us ALL slam our brakes, it honestly could have ended badly. lol

As for you Molly, as long as you're okay, that's all that matters. I have not heard of 'Shawson Auto Body Repairs', but hopefully they do not half *** the job.

As well, I dislike how you make fun of automatics LOL

Happy belated birthday!

LOL I am sorry... I have just recently converted to standard, and am realizing what automatic cars really do.

We definitely both aren't hurt... except my car, which is still waiting all alone for me to come save him. :P Hahaha...

Haha. Oh trust me, I want a manual car badly.

Your poor car, you recently got it too right? I would hate recently getting a car only to get into an accident. Stupid drivers.

Yeah, I just got it in August. It's so sad to be separated from him at such a young age! lol

Manual is the way to go. I'm converted.

prolly just using the 1 2 and 3 to "manually" shift an automatic.

ive only driven an automatic for drivers training when i was little. Other than that my mom started me on stick when i was 12 or 13. ****, when i was a todler mom left the car running and i somehow drove the car into the garage and ran over the lawn mower and crashed into our freezer. it was awesome.

Sorry to hear that poor civic. i have heard about Shawson Auto Body Repairs a buddy of myns got his bodywork done there and it started to rust like in a month. I would recommend you to go 2 J.T. Auto Body 220 TORKYORK DR Unit 2, they did my friends prelude and the bodywork and painting was amazing very clean job.

LOL! It's nothing special... just flooring it so it revs up to about 6000 RPM's or so.

Ps. I can't believe that Shawson sucks... I am so discouraged now. They've already started working on it, what should I do?

Sorry to hear that.
Once you get the car back, why don't you come to an east end meet and we shall evaluate the body work
Also, if they have started on it, its too late. Well its not, you can pay them for whatever they did and take the car back...but its a hassle.

I'm assuming so. I think if the job is shitty, she can get it redone and covered by the insurance?
