the closing of the chit chat fourm has just caused Useless disccussion and is leading to unnesscary disagreements. . .

really pointless. . .if it was a specific thread...it shoulda just been closed and deleted. . .and the person or persons responsible just shoulda just been contacted by the admin and warned. . .

why punish all when u can punish the few...show the few what they will be missing. . .instead of punishing everyone. . . ? makes more sense kinda in my mind. . . a deterrant if u will, seems to work well in everyday society...i know i don't wanna steal...cause i don't wanna go to jail. . .

so maybe ppl won't post out of hand things if they know their access will get taken away. . .
the Classifieds is run real well . .u break the rules ur individual access is taken away. . .and when u come back u've learned....

P.S. CyniKal haha nice tah see yah posting why the cut back in posts? where can we discuss this? something a lot of ppl want to know........i haven't a clue...for the chit chat fourm seems to be missing

Why dont you girls try and learn something instead of giving up and not even trying. IF you only came on tcc to use chit-chat and so long, you wont be missed.

Check out www.offtopic.com

Pure randomness.

I see where the admins are coming from.

On www.maxbimmer.com there are people with 7000 posts, most of which are in the offtopic area. Kinda dumb.

I dont really care whether it stays or not but Im not sure if anyone remembers GTAstreetracing back in the day it used to be an awesome forum for classified and well it was about street racing which I would never do but I loved the forum because it wasnt just about cars but shooting the **** with other people in the same area. Well the same thing happened there as to what is happeneing here, a select few people were mad at the off-topic area because thay all asked "what does it have to do with cars and streetracing?" Well it was taken out for a bit but the forum slowly died so it was put back in and **** started to pick and more poeple got pissed it was back and then there was the split off of the forum and nothign was ever the same. Anyways I tried make it short so it may not make sense to people who may not have been on the board.

I met alot of great people off this site and that one and I would hate to see TCC goto the crapper like I saw GTASR. Although this post is also useless I thought id throw in my 2 cents even though noone cares!

boo-f'ing-hoo... half the time things weren't even posted in the right section. admin has done us all a favour and eliminated one forum where ppl post out of confusion, rather than cuz things belong there.

Offtopic is essential in just about anything we do in our lives. Do you talk about your work and nothing but your work during your usual 8 hours? Do you talk nothing but acadamic during your school hours only? Do you talk nothing but cars during meets? Do you talk nothing but family problems/issues with your parents? Do you talk nothing but sex/spouse related issues with your better half?

No, we go offtopic everyday, and that's real life.

Just about any web based internet forum has an offtopic forum, for their members to rant about things, and have fun at the same time. Think of it as a family if you well, or like your regular work site. There will always be moments that you relax and talk about other things. I might want to talk about cars but I know my mother isn't into it, but that doesn't take away my rights to speak up what I feel like saying.

Offtopic/Chit Chat isn't an extra to this site, it is part of this site. Just because people are talking about things other than their Civics/cars, that doesn't make them any less than any other car owners out there. The reason why some of them are posting on this particular Offtopic/Chit Chat Forum because a lot of them are Civic owners, or car owners who are into cars. We are all here because of our cars, and that's a good enough reason to stay and go from there.

When you have a large number or people, things will get heat up and become interesting, because people interact, and then drama will occur. I can only talk so much about cars, and so does everyone else. The very first group of people who started this club knew that someday, this club could grow and become famous in GTA and whatnot, and when you are famous, people follow and will take part in it. Now, TCC is like a celebraty.

The Administration Staffs take on the job to volunteer to run this particular site, that's very nice of them. But saying "the admins just don't care" is rather irresponsible. If you are the Admin, then it is your duty to care about this site and keep it up to par. If you don't care, then why should the people in this club care? If you don't give a crap, why should we pour our heart and soul to help keeping this site clean and provide the information at the same time? If you don't care, then pass on your responsibilities to the next TCC member that has the same passion and let him/her handle the job. If you are tired of the job and don't want to do it anymore, or just don't find the time to do it because you have a life elsewhere, let others do it. You cannot possibly be the best Admin out there, someone is bound to out perform you.

Take Diablo 2 for example, it is an online RPG/Action game for those of you who don't know. Its website is run by a couple people since 1998 or earlier. People talk about the game like it is their frigging lives, trading game weapons and whatnot and sell things on EBay, and then there is the OTF (Offtopic Forum) which I was once part of (before I came to TCC because I shifted my interests from online gaming to my car, and I wanted to look for a local car club). I was a PayPal Member and 80% of my posts were based in OTF, but I still chat and talk about the game from time to time. I posted there because I came from Diablo 2 background and on that level, I am connected to everyone else on that website. But if you break it down specifically, I was more of an OTF person. There were political discussions, ethical, cultural, personal and meaningless bullcrap but it was fun. I initiated a get together and we have had members came from the States to Toronto for the weekend, and I even drove down to NYC to meet other D2 players. I am all for having a good time, because we all need it.

Administrative Staffs are person themselves. You may be the "god" of this particular website but in real life, god knows who you are and what you do? But you have my respect and many others because you all take care of this website and in return, we as paid members or other non-paid members but who are dedicated will listen to what you say and help keeping this site running up to speed. Why? because we care. And we care more if you care more. If the leaders have forsaken its followers, who the fvck are we gonna look up to? If you cannot handle the monitoring job, well get more Mods to help out, simple as that. If you cannot trust others, that's your problem, not ours, because we have trust in you. There are people who want to help out this club, give them the task(s) and let them help. Some of you might remember that I often try to organize the Korean BBQ nights and we all had a great time, to social and talk about anything we feel like. Cause that's what friends do.

This particular post isn't about demanding on bringing back the CCF, rather, it is discussing how we can better our club. Taking away something won't make the issue disappear. When problems occur, let's review the policies from the top of the authorities then down to its users.

Not to knock the non paying members, but I wonder if we really want to reflect what the paying members would like or have input into their investment in this club, maybe we should have an annual meeting where all members show up and have some of the more critical or main topics be discussed. Not that it shoud be mandatory, but I think if we are really serious about this club, it needs to be discussed in person.

just a thought

I don't know if it's fair to say that the admin don't care, because if they didn't care they wouldn't put up with the crap that they put up with as it stands now. Many people like to blame the admin for 'ruining their day' because a thread got closed or something happened...

nobody remembers that if it wasn't for the admin there would be no TCC, would you rather they not pay the hosting fees and the site gets shut down forever? If you're playing in another kids sandbox you follow their rules cuz it's their playground right? if you don't like it you don't sit there and b|tch about it until it gets changed, you leave, everyone thinks they know what's best, but obviously the admin know a thing or too because look at the club! I just think even before we complain about the CCF being gone lots of ppl have to rethink where they stand on things and why they're so bitter that they can't do whatever the heck they want on someone elses web board.

haha, chit chat now has an acronym... CCF

just stand by as the admin figure things out, once they have it figured out I'm sure they'll let us all know what's going on. sit tight and don't **** them off further.

Peace

Useless conversation? What is that?

Granted chit chat had it's fair share of threads which were just garbage but it was a nice forum to have because it moved a lot and there was always something to read there. I know that I will be checking the forums less now since the others don't move as much and aren't as interesting. I don't think I'd be alone in that. So if I were to visit 3 times a week instead of 2-3 times a day thats a whole lot less exposure to any questions that people need answers to in the other forum. So essentially by taking away something that everyone was interested in reading, I'll assume that it was a popular stop since bandwidth has come up as a reason for getting rid of it, you take away a certain part of the interest in the site. The dot com craze turned out to be crap but there was one ideal that did last through all the ups and downs: More traffic = better potential. Now this website will have less traffic but nobody will get offended or upset over off topic stuff. Seems like a crappy deal to me, but I don't run the place.

Now where else can we dare guys to do dumb things...hahha
hmmm maybe thats why it got deleted...

Hey DJtre I still wanna see you in that dress... LOL
I haven't said anything on this board in a long time but I have to say sumthin' ...I'm really disappointed in the response from the LADIES here.

For you to say that there is nothing for you to discuss besides nail polish and music is absurd! You're on a car site not a dating club or a Hilary duff site about boys, hair & chit chat.

Why did you get into cars?
Was it the attention?
Was it to prove sumthin'?
What was the REAL point?
It really makes me question why you're here.

It is girls like you that give the rest of us a bad name.
SGR hasn't always had the best rep in the past but we've never said, "Oh without chit chat there's no point in us being on a car forum". I would personally take care of any of our members if they ever uttered those words.

Of course there are reasons. Read up on how to change your own oil for god's sake. Find out what that clicking noise is in your car...maybe it's not your car but your head.

Over the years SGR has struggled in bringing more REAL GIRL ENTHUASIASTS into the scene so that it can change the stereotypes of girls and cars. Just over this last year we've actually been able to get back on track by successfully promoting & stressing that.

Then you 2 come along & have the audacity to post comments like that!?!?

Thanks for taking us back! And also another round of applause goes out to you 2, because of those comments we can now weed out the girls who are really in it for the love of cars and the ones who are just here to get attention.

If you wanna chit chat & meet boys get MSN or join lavalife.
If you're really into your cars as much as you present yourselves & you wanna learn then stay here.

Don't ever try to join SGR b/c I will personally make sure your membership is REVOKED.

LOL

My guess is chit-chat will return

As for all of this about paid memberships, and general meettings blah, blah...

I think the admin should suspend new memberships and renewals for the month of September and maybe October too, atleast until they find out who wants to run it

Let me give you all a piece of advice, this club DEPENDS on the few who make it happen and there is now only a handful of those people left, SO DON'T **** THEM OFF!!!!!!!!!!!
