A car club is a car club, but a car club can also have some fun on the forum, and that's what an internet forum is for.

If TCC wants to be as serious as HADA, or other motorsports club that charges as much as 65 dollars and make it member exclusive, it is all up to the people that are running it.

HADA is known for racing, where TCC is known for social and gathering. My interpretation can very well be wrong, but after more than a year hanging around the club, that's my conclusion thus far. I very much enjoying hanging around with fellow TCC folks and going to meets, sharing car experience and talk just about anything under the sun. I am sure many others have experience the same thing.

But what are we trying to achieve here? What is the ultimate goal of this club? Are we just here to bust each other's nuts or are we here to have a good time? Are we here to talk about cars or are we here to enjoy talking about cars? Internet forum can be a little boring sometimes, an offtopic forum always spices things up a little. Yes there will always be new blood, there will always be new Civic owners, there will always be people asking the same questions over and over and over again, there will always be one or two kids who are just acting wild, so what? Kids will always be kids and we can't judge 18 year olds from a 30 year old's point of view. You think this borad is full of immature teenagers? What about your average high school?

I hang out with people who are a decade younger than I am. Not because I think like an 18 year old, but because I want to social and interact with them, understand where they are coming from and that's one way of keeping me intact with most age groups out there. Every club is known for a thing or two --- Honda-Tech is known for a lot of technical skilled questions; HADA is known for skilled racing people ... etc. Will TCC become either of the two? I doubt it.

But this club is known for (so far) a nice group of people hanging out and chillax as much as 3 times a week, shoot some **** and be nice to the new comers, talk whatever they feel like on the forum and mind their own business most of the time. So why not keep it like that? I am sorry but I don't think TCC has that many hardcore folks who are into racing, and I am sorry but I don't think TCC will ever reach the same tech level as Honda-Tech. But we have a high chillax level and super friendly that a lot of boards can't compete, so why not promote it? That's how I see TCC as.

I might be busy from time to time and not able to make the meet, but whenever I have something new installed or have a decent free time on a Friday evening, I go home and wash the car and go to the meet. I almost always wash my car before I go to a meet, even if it will rain the next day. Why? To proudly present my car to the club. That's how I show my appreciation to my fellow members. To be nice to them, be nice to the new folks and non-paid members (I try) and most of all, be who I am.

30 bucks isn't a lot of money to pay. People keep on saying "TCC ain't what it used to be" well too fvcking bad my friend, Canada ain't what it used to be either, your neighbourhood ain't what it used to be either, the world ain't what it used to be either. A century ago your great grandfather was riding on his horse and today you are driving a car, that's call change and for better or worse, let's deal with it together. Someone is breaking the TCC rule, let's show them the way in a nice form. Someone doesn't know how to do certain things, let's give them a helping hand. Someone is trying to be a smart ***, just ignore them and move on.

TCC is nothing but a name. I can take off the sticker and pretend nothing ever happened but what makes TCC a club isn't the name, it is the people in the club. I am here for the friends, not the sticker or the status.

NOVA DUST U SAID IT MAN!...though i'm not a paid member and i don't come to meets.....

everything else u said.....i u know how to word things man. . . that'z everything i wanted to say...haha but clearly i'm not a man of many words. . lol

That'z what i came to tcc for to find ppl with a similar interests make friends with them...develop some kinda bond....if it wasn't for TCC and making some friends on teh board i wouldn't have the parts i have....or met some ppl i have met. . .if it wasn't for this Fourm half the ppl i see around the place that drive civics....i'd think they are just punk kids. . .also the chit chat fourm helped us get to know the kinda ppl we would possibly be dealing with while making a sale or buying something. . . now we just gotta rely on first impressions in a FS thread....is this guy nice...what kinda personality does he potentially have. . who knows. . . . . personally i only buy things from ppl on this board who have posted in the Chit Chat Fourm so i can kinda get an idea of what they are like from the posts in there. . .The chit chat fourm is not only a place to unwind but also a place to do personality research on a board member or stay up to date with current events . . etc. . or things u may have missed in the news...etc. . .

hehe i guess i was prolly one of the reasons chit chat got deleted cuz i did sign up for the forums a year ago and just started posting now so the admins prolly thought ppl like me were just wasting bandwith..i know how it is how to run a site like this cuz my friend does it and he pays for it from his own pocket just for ppl to post and when ppl just take advantage of it maybe it does get the admins pissed..well i dunno whats really going on, but tcc was sure one of the greatest car site to visit cuz not only ppl here provided help for the newbies with there cars but it was also a nice place to chill with other ppl. im sorry if i contributed to this problem but for sure ill still be around cuz i do own a civic and down the road id need help on some things too.
peace out guys

To the people who just come on here to use chit-chat, go find another site to post your useless bull****. This is a car club, a club that is known for having a welcoming group of people who always try to help where they can.

so the damage is done, now what are WE gonna do as a club to move on and make the club better?

I understand that post ****** may have taken over the chit chat, but why punish the whole lot for a few bad apples. Okay, I am not condoning the actions of some of the people who posted inappropriate things, however, who gives a crap? It was entertaining. Like Nova Dust said, the Tcc was a place to come and relax and blow off steam. Personally, I found the chit chat section to be an excellent place to learn about the people you could possibly be doing deals with. The internet can be a scary place, but this particular section lulled some of my fears because in a way, I got to know the other users. The Chit chat built a level of trust among the group that can't be duplicated. The board
has always been an excellent source of information and mechanical help for tuning, but the reason people get involved in tuning was the fun and joy of the sport itself. The chit chat section embodied part of what we all tune our cars for: a damn good time.
The Admin do a great job with handling the section, and I wouldn't be breathing one word of a lie if I said that it's sad to see it go so fast.

If you wanna chit-chat with people you could potentially be doing business with talk to them on msn or come to a meet.

Very true, more of a general comment but i decided to quote her post cause it was related. I just feel like alot of people use up bandwidth in the chit-chat and thats not what tcc is here for.

you can always block someone on msn, or you could use the pm service on the board.

might be true
but i HIGHLY doubt admins are going to actually base their decisions according to this thread.
they arent stupid when they closed it they knew exactly wats going to happen (someone is going to ask where is it) and then a discussion will occur.
They know whats best for this site as they are the ones maintaining it. We all know Chit Chat will come back eventually. But all thats happening right now is everyone is turning another forum (discussion) into offtopic.

Everyone knows its missing and its because its closed.
People talking about it does NOTHING.
y? Re read all the posts on this thread there is not a single post here that states what should be done in benefit for the majority all its saying is personal opinions on why it was closed and why it should be open.
