Where can i get a tuneup this weekend?
Im putting a turbo in my car on saturday and i have a apexi vtec controller that i dont have settings for. Does anyone know of a place i can go to this weekend to get a quick tuneup? I just need the correct values to be put in the apexi controller so that my car doesnt run lean. Not looking for dyno time as i still need to put a turbo exhaust and other parts on in the near future making the dyno time a waste. Just looking for a quick tuneup (basically just someone to program my vtec controller for a turbo setup).
Any referals or help is greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance,
John

are you running bigger injectors because from what ive heard that if you run stock injectors with a apexi safc and try to modify the A/F map it throws the ecu into limp mode because the ecu dopesnt have fuel tables above vacuum. but anyways from what i know you take what cc`s your stock injectors are and divide it by what you new ones are like 450cc dsm`s or 440rc`s etc
so........... follow this
Let's say you have 240cc injectors stock (most civics) and you want to idle a set of 440cc injectors as if they were stock. With a little math we see this:
240/440 = 54%/100%
So we need to take 46% of the fuel away from 440cc injectors to run them like 240cc injectors. Now this is not a perfect conversion because there are more factors than this, but it gives you a ballpark # to start with. As for settings under boost that varies a lot, but under WOT and full boost of 8-12psi a setting of -35 to -30 on the AFC should keep things good and rich.
