Ordinary private vehicles have white plates with green text, while commercial vehicles have green plates with white text. Lightweight private vehicles have yellow plates with black text, while lightweight commercial vehicles have black plates with yellow text. Private, two-wheeled vehicles with engine displacements exceeding 250 cc have white plates with green text; commercial two-wheeled vehicles with engine displacements exceeding 2000 cc have green plates with white text. Private, lightweight two-wheeled vehicles with engine displacements of 250 cc or less have white plates with green text; commercial, lightweight two-wheeled vehicles with engine displacements of 250 cc or less have green plates with white text.

Sorry, it's a little late.

"kei" cars have engine displacement of less than 660 cc. And there are size and weight restrictions. Yes, they are the only ones with yellow plates.

FYI, 1,000 cc = 1.0 litres

So, all CDM EKs have 1.6 litre engines or roughly 1600 cc (it is actually slightly less).

The white Civic at the beginning of the thread is from Osaka. I am surprised PSI_Envy, didn't mention that. BTW, what kind of plates do you have PSI_Envy? I mean region.

OLD_skool4G has a plate that is from Gunma, if I remember correctly.

Also, about the license plate, the colour is important however the smaller numbers at the top next to the region is also a factor. If the engine displacement if below 2,000 cc, the number will start with "5" or "7". In the case of the Civic at the beginning, it had "54", which is correct for this car. Otherwise, they have a number starting with "3" for cars with engines of displacements over 2,000 cc.

Years ago I bought a license plate cover from Bio Dome in Monteral. It is yellow, with a penguine on it.

I am going to use it.

Thanks for the tip PSI_Envy. I've actually have 3 sets...one set of yellow ones and two white and green ones. One has 50 and the other 70. So I guess I'm gonna use the one with the 50.
