im just not a fan of shaved doors or trunk, i like the way the mouldings seperate the door a bit.. but its your car and looks like you put alot of money into it.
not too much money but a bit

you can't do all that smoothing work and then leave the rear. the car would look unfinished or incomplete. you either go all out or not at all... chris has gone all out, and it's very cool. me on the other hand - not at all. they are two diff't sides of the spectrum, and neither one is 'the right' way.

chris, yeah, I was definitely checking it out - it's come a LOOONG way since last year's DKN. all that smoothing has made it look like a bigger car than it is. I wish I had seen the rest of the system. I realize the paint is fresh, it's definitely matte or satin I should say. I hope wetsanding helps that. Before you wetsand, use a gauge to measure the paint depth. you don't wanna rub through the paint.

don't worry about what ppl tell you you "need". Like the judge who said you NEED a playstation and some TVs. Or you NEED an engine and interior work. Fawk them, they're not paying for it. Do the work at your own pace, as budget allows, and do what pleases YOU, not the judges. Cuz 356 days a year, you drive it.... one day out of they year, they judge it fawk it
I tried to mirror the front of the car and the back of the car in a way. The hood doesnt have any lights on it so the trunk shouldnt either. If I had left the plate area there it woulda looked stupid with the smooth sides. I may down the road get a cf trunk lid or even just another trunk and have the middle shaved and have the inner tails put on but i doubt it.

Your car looks awesome bruno and I have alot of respect for how clean it looks but it does draw attention at the same time. I kinda wish I had shaved the door handles now but its too late now, maybe if I find myself a set of rear sedan handles ill get them painted and installed.

The car definiltely has changed alot since last years DKN when it was bone stock with a partly painted interior. I noticed too that the car does look slightly bigger than before but it also has a sleeker look to it IMO. Did you notice the very subtle things I did aswell like the shaved antenna and having the piece under the outter tails molded in?

The system wasnt anywhere near complete as im still missing the 2 6.5" midbass and 1 of my 4" midrange speakers aswell as a finished cover/amp rack in the trunk. It should be done soon so next time your coming down to a Westend meet ill drive down and give you a demo.

The paint right now does look matte/satin looking from a far but i guess thats just how it looks especially wiht the car bein really dirty too. If you looked alot you probably saw the metallic in the paint and how it shimmers when the sun hits it. The wet sanding should help alot and then I can get the car fully detailed and waxed. The wet sanding is being done by Jay not me so no worries on the paint getting messed up.

Yeah I know what I want for the car, there is nothing it NEEDS though cause it gets me from A to B and back. The things people have pointed out like the exhaust and brakes will be taken care of when i get time and some extra $$$ but I dont wanna rush it. That judge pissed me off cause the door panels on my car took atleast 3 weeks to do and yet I got no points for audio because I didnt install a PS2 or screen in my car . Doesnt matter though cause the car isnt a show car, just something to keep me busy and to have fun with.

WoW that was long

chris you know what I think of the car already... damn this thread got long fast....

but ya, as long as you're happy with what you've accomplished then that's all that really matters man... people can give opinions, but ultimately it's your car and what get's done is your decision.. if I wanted to go by what judges wanted, then I'd be flat broke right now...

don't get me wrong I was dissapointed with what the outcome was, but if I went into every show thinking I'll win something I'll never be happy... it was good times and memories that I'll take from the show

What do you think of the car ed?

Pretty much you can build a car for yourself the way you want or you can build it for shows or to get peoples attention.

thanks man, im glad i didnt just get the car painted black again. The C-west full kit i think is one of the cleanest and best looking kits around. Very smooth yet the front bumper has an aggresive look to it aswell.

The car is on Progress full coilovers, the fronts are all the way up and the rears are about 1/4 down. I have scraped the bottom of the front bumper a couple times on the highway on some of the odd deep dips there but nothing major, thank god .

The body work is good, I didn't fully inspect your car throughout though, but judging jay's work on his car I'm sure the quality is there on yours

chris what about a world sport 2 cat back?

my neighbour has one and its quiet as hell, looks sexy but has a nice deep sound to it when you let on the gas, plus no hassle from cops

Robb - you like your CRX's and euro cars I understand.

Neil - It looks 10 times better in person I think, i just cant wait to have it all polished and waxed up so it can really show how nice the paint is.

Deb, whats goin on? Im glad you think the car looks nice, its definitely had alot of changes since last year. I was looking for your car at DKN cause alex said you were gonna be there with the guys who did you seats but i guess not? How is the pink sol doin, you gotta come down to a meet sometime and let me check it out.
