Weirdest Idea Ive heard

Okay,
As you may have noticed in the for sale section, I am currently trying to sell my hatch, I put an add in the autotrader and have been getting lots of people calling me and things are looking good rite now. But about an hour ago i just received the weirdest potential buyer yet. hehe. The guy is from calgary and is interested in paying me every penny of my asking price. He was telling me that if i did want to sell it to him, wed have to arrange to get it there on a train (he would pay all that stuff). So we start talking about the car and I ask him what his plans are for the car (seeing as mine was picked out of all the civics across canada no clue why) and he tells me that he wants to install a subaru impreza STI drivetrain in it.... It seems like the dumbest idea ive ever heard of. If hes gonna go through that much hassles, why not install a k20 or something and turbo it? Hahaha, some poeple crack me up
I still dont know if im gonna sell the car yet, the guy needs time to think it over because he thought mine was an si

I wouldn't sell the car to him unless he came to pick it up.

What a waste of a perfectly good Honda. But still... if he's willing to pay you everything you want, AND take care of the travel arrangements, well... it's *his* money.

waste of a Civic?? it could be the coolest sleeper yet!! actually some ppl can get those STi bits pretty cheap, I know a guy who uses EJ20 motors for rebuilding into Cesna aircraft engines. I think the place is called crosspiper or something like that. So yeah, if he does it right, an AWD Civic would be very cool indeed.

Well... if the guy has the skills, then it would be pretty impressive. But I don't see the point in trying to reinvent the wheel if you don't have to. Sure, an EJ in a civic would be cool, but why not just take a properly fitting B (or get some mounts and get a nice new K) and do it up that way? Sure would be a lot less of a headache. But then again, like I said, if you have the skills, and you're looking to break new ground...

LOL, this sort of goes along with our conversation in the rims thread, Bruno. I gotta tell you, I see the trailblazer in you chomping at the bit when you hear stories like this. And granted, if I saw this whip at a show, I would be drooling like as if I had just seen *insert your favorite two models here* rubbing oil all over each other, but my extremely limited capacity as a car-guy would be scratching my head thinking.... why?

As for AWD, Honda Tuning had an AWD Integra made from mating a B-series block with an old CRV tranny, plus a load of homemade diffs and whatnot.

First get the money and then send him the car.

It would be one sick sleeper if he goes through with it.

Don't talk about waste of Civic where there are people who use Civic as a winter beater and treat it like a POS, then take out their good Civic for the summer.

Let go your car, let him do whatever he wants. You get your money, end of story.
