1.Remove crank shaft pulley (its a P.I.T.A)
2.Remove p.s, and alternator belt
3.Put jack underneath oil pan and remove motor mount
4.Remove valve cover
5.Remove plastic timing covers
6.Loosen timing belt tensioner bolt
7.Remove old timing belt
8.Remove water pump
9.Install new water pump
10.Make sure crankshaft and camshaft are lined up at t.d.c
11.Put new belt on and turn 5 times to set the tension
12.Tighten the tensioner bolt
13.Adjust your valves
14.Put everything back
Im probably missing alot of details but those are the basics, by the way what car is this for?

well the theory is the same but the timing belt and what needs to be removed to get at it will be different.
I'd suggest Buddah's shop ... his shop did mine at a competitive price and it came with a warrenty

the old mustangs use a chain y0, dunno about the modular motor mustangs
timing belt is EZ, I just did my dad's TDI and that's way hard!
oh yeah, you only have to worry about cam and crank timing, the waterpump doesn't have to be lined up for timing.
