Water In Gas BAD!!!

Ok here goes my story!!

I drive a 2002 sir with 44,000k on it.

I was filling up with gas at Sunoco Ultra 94  so i fill up and start her up and away i go. About 2 Km's down the road my car started to sputter then stalls, try to to restart, nothing so there i am sitting in the middle of the road in Milton ( Martin St. if anyone knows) so i push it to the side of a 2 lane road of course at 4 in the afternoon so it is busy! I am like wtf, so i call CAA, and now i have to get a tow to Georgetown Honda, cause Milton doesn't have one! so now the tow truck comes and it is a flat bed, and i am like yes, cause my car is lowered 2", anyways the guy is a ass, and almost yells at me for lowering it, and so he get it up there and SCRAAAAAAPPPPP the front bumper hits the bed, and drags up the ramp! and then again down when we get to Honda. so now it is Fri afternoon, and they are just about to close so i have no car all weekend yaaa. anyways has it stands right now i have 90% WATER in my tank, and they have to drop the tank and drain it and clean it and some other ****, and put it all back together, and they quoted me 1500, **** that! and we called sunoco, and they said it should only cost me 390 MAX!...screw them i am getting it all, i am soo pissed right now!...ahhhh anyways hope that all made sense, if not to bad, i am still pissed!!

Dan

No more Sunoco for me EVER!!!...

electronblue 08-Mar-2004 05:30 PM

WTF Dan!!!

You pumped Ultra 94 in there, and the pump filled you tank with water...

Thats some scary ****...

imported_Stock Si 08-Mar-2004 05:31 PM

ya that is about it!!..payed 30 dollors for water!!....woohoo!!...what a deal!

imported_JookSingKid 08-Mar-2004 05:32 PM

 x infinity

dingus88 08-Mar-2004 05:33 PM

they weren't maintaining there tanks, and you werent' either but still you clearly pumped raw water into your tank...but I bet alot of alcohol at the bottom with the water from the ultra 94 B.S.

when you are usign alcohol enrished fuel you shodul keep your tank above 1/2 atleast to stop condensation from gathering...try nto to leave it over night alot with low fuel in it....but ya someone shoudl pay and nto you

spracingsports 08-Mar-2004 05:35 PM

instead of them charging allthat cleaning labor.... how much would it cost to just pop in a new tank?

and if you filled up with gas at Sunoco and its 90% water, get those bastards to pay for it for screwin up your ride, i would fo damn sho

imported_gatherer 08-Mar-2004 05:35 PM

wow isn't there an evinormental agency that should be notify.. if there tanks have water then it can leak in ... and if it can leak in then it can leak out

dingus88 08-Mar-2004 05:37 PM

it "leaks" in by the fuel expanding and contracting bringing in atmospher and with it H20 so clearly they have tank problems and shoudl be notified

kwikb16a2 08-Mar-2004 05:42 PM

and i only thought that they water down there fuel in europe

spracingsports 08-Mar-2004 05:47 PM

miss cleo (i called her for a free readin) says she sees a large sum of money coming to you in the future

imported_toyman29 08-Mar-2004 06:07 PM

;)

imported_BoOsTd 08-Mar-2004 06:52 PM

sue th mofos for the fix and for the inconviniience.. all you have to do is prove that all the water came from their pump..

i would of went back with a jerry can for samples. and asked them to to a varco fuel test, and a density check, with the results signed by the tester. To late now, i bet they closed the pumps.

imported2nv 08-Mar-2004 11:50 PM

i hope you got a recipt or put it on a card.
then you can clean them out take them to the bank
take pics of your bumper if it got scratched make them pay for new paint job.
most likly they will settle out of court.
good luck bro.

Notorious 09-Mar-2004 12:24 AM

imported_Stock Si 09-Mar-2004 12:40 AM

i called Sunoco tonight and got a guy saying they will cover all the work on the car as long as it isn't over 390, anything else isn't neccesary??..lol..i was like ah ok, i took it to honda cause it was a new car, and i didn't want some shaddy mechanic to do it! i never asked them about a new tank, the major cost is the fuel pump and fuel filter, apparently they are 1 unit, so that is the big exspence. that and labour!... oh well i will keep you all posted!! Anyone a lawyer??...teehee

Cynikal.Mindset 09-Mar-2004 02:01 AM

VSM_SiR 09-Mar-2004 03:51 AM

Were you gasing today? When the gas was cheap and many gas stations were running low?

imported_S@URN 09-Mar-2004 07:32 AM

BC kits are such garbage! My buddy bought a WRX kit from them and it fit like pooh. He replaced that junk with a Greddy kit, but the BC was just a pure waste of money. Greddy fit like a glove (and not OJ's glove neither :D )

imported_SiR_YO 12-Mar-2004 05:25 PM

that's what he wants.. personally it's not my style either.. fitment issues, you'll always (more often than not) have problems with replica fiberglass kits...

h_accordexr 12-Mar-2004 06:31 PM

sunoco damn never believed they would do that

Petro Canada is one of the worst gas stations to go to. The reason being is that what they add to their gas. It will eventually corrode the plating on a part of the fuel pump system.

Sunoco is one of the cleanest gasses up here next to Pioneer, and another one.

:nods: Sunoco :drivesafe

if not Just rep urself.......cause no matter what u got this one

Get a Quote from honda....and Proof of the water in the gas tank......written by a mechanic or something......and ur set....

n1_taboo 14-Mar-2004 09:54 PM

no man, take it to your local news paper...ie Mississauga news, etc....do it man, get them to do a story on this man....

NoSpleeny 14-Mar-2004 10:07 PM

If Sunoco knows about how much it costs roughly.. that means this is probably not the first time this event has occured to them...

They know they're pumping water into peoples tanks sometimes.

imported_~ILLEST CIV~ 14-Mar-2004 10:22 PM

i think a lot of gas stations do this......i've heard a copule of stories like this already..........

anyone know why they would do this?
