Update on Body Shop

Ok.. as most of you guys know.. my car's in the body shop because the exhaust shop backed my car into a pole.

Well.. I was told if everything goes well .. my car should have been ready on Fri or Sat. The car wasn't ready. I called on Friday and the body shop said today Monday...

so I called them this morning and they said the part they ordered was wrong for my "Mazda". What the ****? Do I drive a mazda? Now I'm getting worried that my car's sitting on blocks right now and stripped down right to the screws!

He said parts are wrong then he said "clips" are wrong.

What do I do?! I'm getting real worried now.

I always had a hunch that I should have brought my car to the Honda dealership to get it fixed.

What shop did it go to?

The one the muffler shop "recommended" ?

Best of luck in getting this thing fixed, man!

If it wasn't your fault, always take it either to Honda, or to a VERY reputable shop that you know will do an AMAZING job- no matter what the price.
I know, its too late now. But know for next time...

Thus far.. I have held back the names of the shops on the forums but I have told some people at the meets to raise public awareness of this issue...

The muffler shop went around back to the body shop neighbouring it... Maybe 20 meters away... I went there. They apparently repair Audi and VW vehicles for the dealership just down the road.

I should have just taken it to Honda... Hind sight is 20/20.

If I do not get my car back by this evening.. I will have to take measures to ensure the well-being of my car.. I will be posting shop names so you guys can maybe give me some extra power and put pressure on the shop(s) to fix my car and return my car. If I went to Honda.. my car would have been done by now.

I don't know, man.

I'm sure some people on the board will share their own experiences.

From what I've heard, if you hassle the shop to hurry up with the car, and so on - you will get shitty work done.

Its not like they stole your car or anything, perhaps all they are being is unprofessional. And I'm sure this doesn't calm you down one bit.
Just wait another day or two, don't start harassing them about the car just yet- for the good of your car.

- My 2cents

With this kind of service that I'm receiving and the guy doesn't even know the make of my car... I rather him just hurry up.. slap everything on.. then I'll go back to my lovely Castle Honda and get it RECHECKED there...

I rather him just put the parts on.. cheaply or quickly.. and I'll just get Castle Honda to ensure it's put on properly.

I don't trust body shops... Except for dealerships.

Now I understand why my father only brings his car to the dealership and never to a body shop...

I'd have to agree on not hassling the body shop about when your car will be done, although I do see where you are coming from, especially with this situation. From mine and others experiences, it pretty much goes without saying that your car is never ready when they (the bodyshop) say it will be.

I've decided.. I'm gonna get my car back and IMMEDIATELY book an appointment @ Castle Honda for them to take a look at my car and inspect the repairs to make sure they were done to factory standards.

UPDATE:

My car has missing clips right now and the guy said before I picked up the car.. it's been in an accident before... and the dealer fixed it cuz there's a crack on the right part of the bumper.. Oh really?!?!?!?!

He said it'll be ready by tomorrow @ noon or before than.. MAY GOD BE MY WITNESS.

I'm to call him @ 11 if I don't hear from him but he assured me he'll get back to me before 11.

MY ORIGINAL DATE FOR PICKUP WAS FRI OR SATURDAY.. THEN IT GOT PUSHED TO MONDAY.. NOW TUESDAY... NEXT THING YOU KNOW.. IT'LL BE AT THE END OF THE SUMMER!

TO BE HONEST.. I WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED IF IT WAS AFTER DKN.

It all has related to their work ethics and how serious they are in this business.

They act the way they are because you couldn't do the work yourself, and they have your car in their hand. Hence, if they say next week, then next week it is. I am sorry you got into such a messy situation with that shop. When you go pick it up, examine all parts and never return to that place. I am sure you won't go back after this incident.

I like the exhaust shop thus far and will return to them if everything goes well.. HOWEVER.. after this delay from the Body Shop.. the ONLY PLACE I'll ever go is to Castle Honda..! Hell.. I could take my car to a FORD dealership and they'd have it done by now.
