Toyota up 26.1%
Freaky! They are up with the Big 3.
Scary. Their style and substance absolute crap. Just goes to show the importance of Branding.
Honda at least have the S2000 and the *** end of the Accord for style, Mazda and Nissan doing gangbusters with lots of thier cars.

don't forget the popularity of the matrix, or how about the new xa and xb, how about the echo hatch? corolla s? **** i'd rather have the s instead of the civic veloz or whatever it's called..
don't be surprised though, it's not only north america they're conquering, they're the leader in japan too.

Simple explaination!
The CEO of GM Motors was quoted as saying that GM is in the business of making money.
That's the American way of doing business.. "I'm here to scam my customers and make money!"
The Japanese method is that they are here to make cars and the money will take care of itself. And look where they are now.
Toyotas are great cars! If I had the money.. I'd sell my Honda and buy a nice Celica or something. I would take a Lexus over an Acura hands down anyday!

they got some good cars right now ...and lets not forget the kickass rides they had back in the 'hey day' (supra, '86 carolla)
and its easy for them to be even with Big 3 especially when Big 3 are losing market share to euro and jap makers at the same time. and dont forget that toyota is the BIGGEST car company in japan even honda is like a small fry compared to them, well not that small.

toyota is doing very well for them selves...they are the only japanese company to run there own forumla 1 race team.... not just build motors like honda.... and while there cars may not appeal to people on this board... they are selling really well to the rest of the world so something is right for them

I like Toyotas, I find their design inspiring and refreshing. Too bad about the cave-man inspired suspension technolgy. torsional beam
I DO like, however, that they have a new entry level car.... HONDA needs to do the same cuz the Civic is all grown up, it's time to enter a new model. The echo is simple, economical, and not bad looking.

man my personal opinion is that the echo is crappy........i mean it rides on spare tires......seriously.....have u seen the tire size?...it's funny sometimes....and when u see it drive in winter.....and how much it sways and stuff.......i dunno.....my friend and i were driving up to his cottage last winter.....and there was an echo in front of us.....and it was struggling and stuff....that'z what it appeared to be doing to us at least.......lol maybe we were just cracked out..........

Not surprised Toyota is moving up.
Wether or not you like the style of their cars doesn't matter. Everyone knows the make good reliable cars.
IMO their styling has improved as of late.
Maybe they'll bring back the Supra...
