It's foggy here... looks like it rained for a bit.

weather

If you guys make it here and it starts to rain, we could always just chill at the Hortons or have breakfast at the Egg and I... we'll make it worth your drive somehow.

Cayuga wrap up:

We had a good time, whether we raced or not. There were some ups and downs in regards to the racing itself. Everything seemed to revolve around this muscle car event, which none of us really cared for the least bit (and the muscle car lovers didn't care the least bit for us either). When our 'club supporters' finally had their turn to race, there were some real surprises (Dave went from "not having fun" and about to leave, to sticking around and having fun by the end of the day)... all I can say is 15.6. Sam was also warned not to wear a muscle shirt on the track just before the green light.

Well.. all in all, it was my first time ever at a drag strip and I've gotta say that enjoyed it very much... even though I didn't race.

Thanx to everyone for meeting me at Tim Hortons this morning on the way out there.

Thanx to El and whoever else supplied the chairs I sat in today.

Also, thanx to El for supplying the tent. (I still managed to get a sunburn and/or windburn by the end of the day)

Thanx, had a good time... will do it again... will race

I'd say atleast 5-10 more times. You need to learn to relax rich, how are you going to live with yourself knowing that your car ran a 15.9 and mine ran a 15.6 un-tuned and falling apart

When we first got to Cayuga it was insane!

Not like that Import Drag thing I went a couple weeks ago, with mostly hondas and street spec rides running and few Honda Dragsters....

It took like 20 mins to get from the edge of the road into the grounds.

We saw everything run from everyday cars like civics, mustangs...

To the bizarre, drag trucks, flame painted hotrods, turbo chargeds anythings, and Beefed Up Muscle Cars...

To the Insane, Full stretched out Dragsters with parachutes mounted on the backe, and a Stretched Drag bikes which ran 6 seconds!

The atmosphere was deafening with the sounds of Big Bore engines rumbling and the smell of burnt rubber from Hardcore dudes warming up their drag slicks.

We had to wait alot, there was apparently an event going on, there were too many cars to count.

But by the end, things moved along well and we got lots of runs in by the end of the day.

Rain never made an apperance, and we didn't actually see a dark cloud in the sky until our last run.

My runs suffered from bad launches a few miss shifts... time to diagnos the tranny issues.

Dave was going to leave with Rich but I had to bribe him by letting him use my tires. It was trying with complaints, heat, 1 hour waits between runs...

After Rich, El and company left, We were joined my by Hybrid brothers, Rob, Andrew and his girl maggie, and later on by Conrad. We through caution to wind and see what fate had instore.

Through the afternoon cars left relieving the bottle neck of anxious drivers waiting to hurtle down a quarter mile strip.

I had a chance to race andrew and rob (a couple times)

One run which totally confused me, because I beat rob off the line, in reaction time and crossed the line before him, but the awarded him the win and the faster time.

All in all, the leason learned that day was that racing is suffering.

You may have a car that run 13s, but that doesn't mean you know how to drive it to run 13s...

Well when we got to the Gates there like here to Run or watch Me Run - GF Watch
Lady - $50 Please
Rich Pay's $50

Empty Car of all my crap, set my Tires and head to line up.

45-1hr of waiting in line after 30000000 Crazy Domestics Run there cars OVER AND OVER and It's finally Time for The Rich man to Race.

We start moving and i'm like crap what kinda crazy *** car am i gonna be running (Remember it's my first time on the track) So I keep moving up and when I get the the waiting area right before you race I look over and see some CRAZY *** Hatch with and all motor H22 and the Splitfire Hatch that does high 9's Turbo.

Ok so here's how it went
Richard - CRAP Give me one of those 8 sec domestics so I don't look so stupid
Guy waves me up to the starting line
Richard - Stage my car thinking so one of those two hatch's are beside me but I don't see any staging lights beside me.
I look back to see WTF is going on and outta the corner of my eye I see the tree start to MOVE (CRAP CRAP CRAP) By the time I look at the tree it's on YELLOW #2 and I'm screwed 3rd yellow hits and i just rev up and dump the clutch car Bogs and I'm off all alone. (once again WTF)

I hit the end of the track get a 15.9 and I'm pissed
Found out later the 2 hatch's were waiting to race each other. Best part of the day was driving BACK to the start on that SMALL SMALL SMALL Road it Said Max 10k and I was so pissed I was doing about 120.

So the day goes on. We wait another hour in line and I can't take it anymore. When the first car moves I get Dave to move up and I'm Outta there.

I drive to 3 different spots to try and talk to ANYONE about what's going on and after about 45 min of driving around and talking to different people they give me a pass to come back whenever I want.

Had a CRAPY Day but still wanna go back. I'm soooo pissed that at the gates they didn't tell up there were about 3000000000000 people inside doing an event.

I'm also pissed about the Shitty shitty Time. 15. Flat Next time I run.

Lets set up another day and i'm there. The day would have been amazing if it was a Pure Test and Tune like they said it was gonna be. STUPID F%(#*ERS

Ya But How good was that sleep. **** after a day like that IT WAS AWSOME.

I'm sorry to all that I left in a bad mood I just don't like taking crap. I have a big problem with waiting a long time for things that shouldn;t be taking long and I promise to be in a much better mood next time we all head to the track. Dave and I are talking on ICQ about our next trip RIGHT NOW>
