um no one can answer this?

imported_JookSingKid 21-Sep-2002 01:16 AM

you should be able to run mid 14s

Cost? Depends if you do it yourself...
anywhere from $2K - $4K based on a first gen motor, and how much work you're willing to do yourself and who you go to.

quarter mile mid to high 14's
0-62 mid to high 6's

all top end power :yummy:

im thinking of buying this guys hatch its the old once sqarish he has a b16 swappen in there already... u guys think it would be wise to buy it? what kind of problems should i look for?

ludeboye 21-Sep-2002 06:13 PM

is it better if i buy a cheap used newer looking civic hb like the 1992 and above? im unknown basically to the world of civics and their engine swaps im loking for something not to expensive i have reserched on some junkyard websites and they shoe b16's for as low as 700$ canadian? well can someone please let me know what a wise choice be before i go spend the lil money i saved.

Buy a stock civic and do all the mods yourself. So then you know what has been done to it.

ludeboye 21-Sep-2002 10:14 PM

yea but im not really bill gates :s im a 17 year old kid lol what kind of engines drop direct into the 92+ hb's?

imported_SurferBoy 22-Sep-2002 12:02 AM

b16's , b18c (gsr) , B18c5(Type R) , H22 , b18b (LS)

all drop nicely into a 92+ hatch

The b16's u'r seeing at the junkyards sound like 1st generation. $700 usally mean they're 1st gens (92 or older ) 2nd gens usually go for $2500-3500.

$700 might mean you're only getting the engine. No tranny ecu wire harness etc. ...

As said earlier, I would buy a cheap hatch (CX, DX) and drop in a new engine. This way you know exactly what you have when you're done. If you buy one with a swap already done then you're taking your chances.

Check out some of our authorized shops ie RT motorsports , KSR etc . they will be able to help you out.

Hope this helps

so the 92 hatch takes in the 1st gen b16? how much approx will i be paying for a full swap?

ludeboye 22-Sep-2002 02:32 AM

one last q ive done some reserch and decided to go with a 92 civic hb and drop in a b16 2nd gen if budget allows can anyone give me some estimate prices on 2nd gen b16's ? and installation.. thanx again and good night lol

KS-R 22-Sep-2002 01:20 PM

A B16a2 into a 92 H/B will be around $4000-$4500 installed... The motor is about $3000-$3500 or so... That comes with engine, tranny, ecu... but you still need axles, shift linkage and some other misc things. So... when all said and done.. You're looking at around those numbers.

First off, if your 17
I think you should just stick with a stock engine rather than putting all your money into swapping. I'm sure you still got school to pay for which will be coming up some time soon.
Second, we don't need anymore kids screwing up insurance rates as it is
