Summer upgrade ideas for my civic

So spring is almost here and i want to upgrade my civic a little bit. So i need some ideas for this summer

This is what i ve got so far in my civic

Interior

SI cluster
Short shifter ( bought one already never had the chance to install it)
Alpine amp
2 MTX subwoofers and alpine deck with ipod aux

Exterior

Paint job done last year
Lowered about an 1 inch
16" rims with low profile tires
spoon front lip
rear lip (have one , never got the chance to installed)
sir grill ( bought one last year , never had the chande to install it)

Performance

NGK wires
Short ram air intake
Breather
Catback magnaflow exhaust
Headers ( i been told previous owner change it but noone is able to confirmed it )
Strut bar

I'm pretty much done with the exterior but i m looking into upgrading the performance. Or maybe the suspension.

My budget is about 1000-1300 tops so any ideas have to be around that budget. I dont want to have a 250 hp civic that i wont be able to maintain, this is my daily drive and even though i would love a turbo i can not afford to pay for premium gas all the time. Kepp in mind i also have a mazda 3 and that thing eats gas

Any ideas guys. Interior , exterior or performance , it doesnt matter.

oh yea and i got the 2000 civic sedan , se (d16y7)

looks pretty clean. I'd say maybe black headlight with a retrofit (projector) nothing ricey other then that i think a bigger set of wheels would sit nicer and if the where deep dish....damn . GL and keep us posted

What I would do:

Full urethane suspension bushings,
Rear disc brake conversion,
Steel braided brake flex likes,
Full brake fluid flush, refill/bleed with higher grade fluid,
Rear tie bar and brace, (not to be confused with a strut bar)
Performance clutch with lightweight flywheel,
Blacked out inner headlights.

That should use up most of the $1000-1300.

If you are at all concerned with performance, DO NOT increase the size of your rims, any larger. They will be heavier, the tires will cost even more to replace and the ride quality will be garbage. (Unless you like the look of large rims on civics (lowered or not), to me, they don't look right, hurt performance, provide harsh ride quality, and are not neccessary). Your car right now looks great imo.

my 2 cents.

thanks for the ideas so far.

I can not put bigger rims , the car is lowered and 16s are big enough. 17s may rub. Also i m not too much into the 17 or 18 rims in a civic. Thats just my taste.

I was also thinking of doing a mini me swap with a d16y8 head. For whay i been reading that alone will give me more HPs for the best $$ and i will still have some left for other upgrades ( clutch , flywheel)

Retro fit in the headlight is something i would also like to know for sure . Glad you mention that because i forgot about it.

id do:

oem fogs, jdm window visor/ spoiler (the one that goes on your rear window), and find some nice polished blades. a mini me swap would be good for performance wise too..

I got a quote for 125 and 150 from nextmod and toofastmotors. I like how it looks but the one they quoted me may be a different one

Here is the pic of the one i was quoted , now it may be because of the angle or because it wasnt painted.

good idea , however keep in mind that this is my daily drive . I already have a hard time driving this civic in the winter and it isnt even lowered too much , so lowering more may not get me to work or school

Mine is lowered 2-2.5" and I live up near newmarket in the country where we get a lot more snow then the city gets, and I just remove the front lip and side skirts during the winder. Haven't run into any trouble thus far after owning the car for the past 4 winters...Slap a good set of snow tires on and it's good to go!

I must say though, sometimes after good dump of 6" + of fresh snow, while driving out the driveway before it's plowed (500ft from house to the road), the snow comes up and over the hood! LOL. But I rarely get stuck with these awesome snow tires...just keep giving it the beans!!! haha.

When I was on springs, 2.75"drop drove around for 3months, up until I switched for different setup.

Just got to watch the road more when you drive and avoid pot holes.

Or for the money you could get an ls (b18b1) swap, or a B20. Reliable and drivin a dohc after sohc, its like day and night.

Thats actually a good idea. I def going to start looking for those engines. I know my budget is tight but if i can get a hold of that for a decent price i ll def go for it

I don't want to create another thread. But today i took out my rims to get them ready for the summer. However i m def going to need at least 2 tires , maybe even the whole set ( 2 of them have maybe 40% left and the other 2 , 10% left)

I called around and i been given high quotes. Tire 23 had the best quote at 245 a pair.

Now here is my question for the tires experts out there. The size tires on my rims right now are 205/40 ZR 16 83W. They run about 125 a piece.

However i also called another sponsor here who has the following size 205/50 R16 , I been told there isn't that much of a difference between the size of both tires and these tires only cost 62 a piece ( so 240 for the set)

Now i don't really care much about racing tires and so but my only concern is if those tires 205/50 r16 will fit my car and what can i expect if i decide to buy those tires instead of the 205/40 rz 16 (performance tires)

There is so pics of my car so i m hoping the experts here can help me out a little bit.

thanks

it will just make the sidewall a bit bigger. i dont think you should have a problem running 50 sidewall instead of 40 unless you drop it a lot

it is going in the same car in the picture. I still think i have a little more of clearance but like i say from 40 to 50 i dont really know how much of a difference that would be. But if i can have a set for 250 instead of 450 , it is well worth it

It will fit, but you will rub with weight in the car on bumps. Also if you take U turns quicker it will rub a bit also. I remembered just for year hell of it I tried 205/55r16 and after I rubbed out, the car was sitting on the fenders. If you could get 195/50r16 they should (don't quote me on this) tuck in the back. Again, that depends on the offset of the rim.
