Hello, I am planning to get a new car next year around spring. However, I'm torn between two very viable candidates.
Integra Type R or a EK Hatch with an H22.
Points about integra :
-much prettier than a civic
-a little but more "luxurious" if you can use that term....
-one of the best handling FF cars
-don't need to do much to the car (intake and exhaust, some suspension maybe, done)
I am a little afraid that ITR's may have been abused/raced constantly so thats one negative.
The biggest thing I have against it is winter....I'm not sure if I'd be willing to drive this car in winter time.
Points for Civic:
-h22 + little civic = loads of speed / power
-small car, easy to park, easy to manouvre
-I'd have to get the engine swapped, so you can kinda say that I'm more confident that the engine would be in good condition vs getting a race ready sports car. It's verymuch possible that the engine I get will be pulled from some old japanese man's grocery getter
-Sunroof (this is a bit of a big one)
Unfortunately, this is some work as I'd definitely have to do suspension stuff with it as well as the hassle of getting a shop to do the engine swap (I know it only takes a few days but still).
At this point I'm more concerned about driving the ITR in the winter as well as the ITR having a crapped out motor. For the civic, I'm worried about having to do a bunch of stuff before I having it in a condition that I like.
So there you have it.....power vs agility.....pretty vs kinda fugly....
Any thoughts? (Oh, and money wise, the civic has a slight edge)

take the civic. you dont know if ITR was pulled to much and so on. spend alittle and lose your car for a few days...and know that you will have many years of enjoyment....in my opinion the ITR is a bunch of ifs...you just dont know..the civic you will know everything, cause you did it all (new engian = a new car)

some of your points about the motor being abused go either way
who knows how the motor you swap in has been treated, if its a JDM motor, beyond leakdown test and comp test you have no idea if the owner redlined it every gear, i dont know too many people with preludes who use them as grocery getters

ITR but if your main concern is a sunroof maybe a type r isnt for you, and ive known two owners of type rs and both take very good care of there cars, they driving them fast but their not idiots, adn who says this H22 you pick up hasnt been ripped ot **** in the prelude it was pulled out of,
I beleive the integra type r was given the honour of #1 in SCC's top 100 sport compacts, the evo was number 2
