Street Racers Beware

Cracking down hard on Stolen cars.

Police stated today at a press conference that many of
these cars reported stolen actually have been put in a Storage Facility.
Insurance scam You may ask? This is what Police Officer Thomas Flego had to say;
'' We're currently doing an undercover sting with many of our Division's, however we have
found and recovered many of these reported 'stolen'' cars in many Storage Facilities.''

It looks like the underground street racing league is being cracked down slowly.
Many of these men/women are reporting there car's stolen, while in storage, they are being
painted, stripped of parts, and added to a new veichle they purchase of the same type and in
most cases, they are being caught. In 2005 there have been 436 cars reported stolen, 205 of
these scammers have been caught. So far in 2006 there have been a number of reported stolen
veichles, there hasn't been a record number yet, but these undercover activities plan on cracking down
on all reported stolen veichles.

The run down on illegal street racing.

Most of these street racers are hiding in the day while at work.
But when street lights go on, these preditors are awaiting.
It seems to be that your local Tim Hortons may be a street race hangout.
Undercover Police Officers have been on the move and they have found that
the street racing is done in industrial areas where it seems to be harmless.
Light to light racers are being cracked down on hard. While many of these
racers are at a local Tim Hortons, they do not realise that when there souped up
rides are being checked out by many of the Undercover Officers.
Many of these cars have been modified from when the car was purchased.
There are a few things that these Officers have let out to the public;
''There are forums on the internet where these street racers are calling eachother
out to a race.'' Police Officer Thomas Flego stated.
There have been many requests about creating a Quarter-Mile race track here in the GTA,
It's most likely not going to happen. Here are a few websites that street race talk has been noticed:
Honda-tech.com , ************* , f***.ca , VWvortex.com , Torontointegras.com
Those are just a few sites that are on the internet.

The final message to illegal street racers is the following...

STREET RACERS BEWARE!

got this from another forum.
dont have the press article since i dont remember the original link it was posted from but it shouldnt matter you shouldnt be racing on the streets anyways.

btw insurance scammers DIE! stop raising everyone's premiums.

I think a 1/4 mile track around the Gta is a good idea, but for some reason as you stated it's not going to happen. I'd like to know why not?

Good post...good info.

As for that drag track that will never be...

I believe if there are enough of us and we get together and create a huge petition....maybe, just maybe something will eventually happen...

In the mean time we'll just have to continue huffin it down to cayuga to do the strip...

I would think its the fact that the person would have to pay a huge insurance fee to operate the track...but couldnt they just say "you die, tough ****"..just like the ski slopes?

At least they're finally cracking down hard on scammers, but i bet the penalties are about as bad as a slap on the wrist..while wearing gloves.
