Stolen Salvage Title

Stolen Salvage Title
So i was looking to buy this car but it has a Salvage Title. He said the car was stolen and was missing parts such as ValveCover (for the engine) and Seats. So he had them replaced by the dealership.
So i called up my mech and he said theres no such thing as Stolen Salvage Title, and that i shouldn't get it unless if i want problems later.
So guys i need your input on this. It's a pretty good car with a good price tag, the owner seems honest. He told me even b4 seeing the car, and seeing the body of the car was perfect condition and we test drove it and we even went on the highway - so far it seemed no problems with the car (or any weird noise)
He bought the car as salvage title in 2001 the car is made in 1999. Any suggestion will help thanks.
PS: Is there a way to check why it was salvage from the insurance company or anything? / description of the salvage?

no bro it's an integra .. btw by used vehicle package it'll tell you why it was salvage ?? i thought they just say salvaged due to stolen and nothing more. No description of how the car was stolen or what was stolen. If thats the case sure i'll go get one thanks.

I just called the dude up and he says the car was Thief Recovered. But the cost of rebuilding it would be more than what they expected so the insurance company pasted it as salvage. Basically this guy bought the car of auction and replaced all the parts that were missing (includes - spoiler, seats, valve cover, oldameter) by the dealership and now is placed as REBUILT from Salvage title. So guys is it worth it? Thanks.

your mechanic doesnt know what the hell he is talking about.
Ontario has 4 BRANDING SYSTEMS.
1. NONE
2. SALVAGE
3. IRREPAIRABLE
4. REBUILT
THEFT RECOVERY also known as TTR (TOTAL THEFT RECOVERY) doesnt not get branded as THEFT it gets branded as SALVAGE. If a car gets into an accident and gets written off it also gets branded as SALVAGE.
that being said if the car was theft recovered it would say salvage and once you replace all the parts and have the vehicle checked out you will get a SALVAGE CERTIFICATE which declares your car ROAD SAFE again and your car's title will change to REBUILT.
if the car looks fine and drives and works fine then buy it.
no UVIP is going to tell you if the car was previously in an accident or theft. all it will say is that its rebuilt and it could've been in one or the other situation.

jay is the man, he knows these stuff real good... listen to the pro
if the price is good and its worth it to you, its not a bad buy... just make sure you knock off another few hundred due to the title, that's all you can do
