sooooooooooooooo pissed

so today my car stalled luckinly only like a minute from my house so not that much of a b i t c h

on monday i put new rotors and pads on the front costed me 200 did that, as im pullin out of the shop 10 secs dow nthe road my exhasut just pops and my car starts to sound like a 67 mustang i drive bck and u can hear my pipe dragging so im like ****, i get it lifted onto the hoist and the cat neck broke so i needed a new one....150 right there for a used stage 1 and install with the welding and **** so thats 350 i spent right there 150 of which i didnt plan on spending. so happens that that day my insurance was due so that was another 300 which w/e, its a part of driving so i didnt mind.

now today im leaving my house with my buddy to go to the junkyard, i had to get bristol board for school, just some errands, the car was running perfect sounded fine u noe? everything was good then i got to the first stop sign, stoped. start going i shfit from first to second, cruise for 3 secs and the car just jerked hard and stalled so i tired kick starting it one time didnt work juss tried turning the key while moving nothing, ulled over, tried starting nothing, everyhting sounded perfect with the started and everything so it obviosuly wasent the battery and ive never heard of a dead batter stalling ur car while ur driving. so i call my mechanic, tell him the symptoms and he tells me its my timing belt and thats about 3-4 hundred to fix and if the valves are bent, its gonna be about 900 so im like ommmmmgggggggggggggggggggg sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooo pisssssssssssssssssssssed PLUS my sound system suck and sounds like **** and my car has pure rust now. and everyone is pissing me off with smart a s s remarks

and that was my day

Unfortunately Honda engines are zero clearance engines...
Majority of the time... when timing belts break, pistons will kiss the valves goodbye.

Sorry to hear about your luck though.

Honda-tech.com will be your best friend if you have no idea how a timing belt works...
its too late at night for me to even start to describe the purpose the timing belt has.

The belt breaks, the cam stops turning, some of the valves are open, the crank is still turning, the pistons are still moving, the pistons hit the valves that are supposed to be closed.

I thought honda motors were non-interference motors. anyways, sounds like a ****ty day you had, it might be cheaper to get another eg than it is to repair the one you have.

i want to sell it, i would if i could....the smartest thing to do would be sell it and buy a completely stock newer honda like a 7th gen and juss keep that and do things to that overtime, atleast itll be in running and condition and the money id use for like a nice soundsystem isnt going towards something like....the timing belt

Did you just imply that the mechanic should have seen the timing belt was going to break?

lol.
Well if the belt is broken, more than likely you'll need an engine. Good time for a swap though!

How much do you trust your mechanic?
Do you usually stick with your car while they work on it?
