Someone Broke my 2008 Civic window and stole my GPS

!!!!!!!!!

This happened just now. my seat is still a little dry (Its raining hard outside)
I filled a police report and they said they might get my GPS back if I provide them the serial number.

This will cost me 280 for the window and 100 for installation plus TINT.

They broke my passenger side then took my fkin gps...... THe sad thing is. I was just looking at my car 30 mins ago then I went to my room then my cousin going to school saw it.

Damn!, that sucks man!..

I take my GPS out of the car everytime I leave, or hide it somewhere..

Gallagher 13-Nov-2008 10:15 AM

i always keep mine on my dash.

Double B 13-Nov-2008 10:19 AM

Always take mine off. Same with my transponder for the 407

I just spoke with a cop and he told me that everyday there are 10 incidents like this in Toronto.. This event happens between 2-5 am and after stealing the GPS they sell it to pawnshops for $50 bucks. Pawnshops take serial numbers and the cop that I spoke to said he might get my GPS back if I provide the serial number, good thing I kept the box with my serial # on it.

just want to say - stick to the regular paperback maps (going old school).

GPS causes accidents and theft (in this case).

Sorry to hear that happen to you, in fact, my uncle got broken into twice due to someone trying to steal his GPS.

Raptors33 13-Nov-2008 11:18 AM

it will cost me $500 to get everything fixed from honda dealer.. any cheaper way to do this? =(

Gallagher 13-Nov-2008 11:29 AM

garbage bag and duct tape

Raptors33 13-Nov-2008 11:39 AM

I got a cheaper one $240 brand new installed, free pick up (Tow) 1 hour everything is fix..

from http://www.torontowindshieldrepair.com/

49% cheaper than honda dealer

Raptors33 13-Nov-2008 11:44 AM

Okay it's now down to $220 the guy will install it infront of my house, will vacuum my car, lifetime waranty etc....

kingjames1983 13-Nov-2008 11:49 AM

I use a map! who the F wants to steal a map lol
sorry about your luck though

Raptors33 13-Nov-2008 11:51 AM

gps is really useful. Last night for example, I had to drop off my uncle to Orillia.. I got there in 1 hour no worrying and getting lost...

Adair 13-Nov-2008 12:25 PM

Sorry to hear about this.
Such unnecessary mess, loss, money, time, stress...everything. :(

Its not GPS that cause accidents, its stupid people that use them. Most people keep looking at the screen, instead of paying attention to the road. Why pay attention to the screen when there's a voice telling you where to turn. Also people try to use their GPS, and find places while driving. Here's the simple solution, pull over, put your destination in, and then go from there.

Its dumb people who cause accidents, not GPS units.
