The Si is getting lowered.... Finally!

As of next week, my Si will be lowered on Eibach Pro-Kit springs. I didnt want anything too low or too stiff and the Pro-Kit seems to fit my needs very well. They are only about a 1" drop, but IMO, thats all my Si needs. Just enough to settle the car down on its wheels a little, but still comfortable enough for a daily driver.

I'm paying $700 for them, but that includes the springs, installation and an alignment.

Pics to follow.

Springs=300 new at most
Install=100 at most
Alignment=70

Why is the cost so high? I would go somewhere else if I were you.

Most shops I've spoken to want close to $200 for the install and I won't take it to some random shop I've never dealt with. Speedtech lowered both of my old cars and they were each $150 years ago.

The price may be a little steep, but the springs are being purchased and installed at the Honda dealer where I got my Si, so their labour cost is what is raising the price. On the plus side to having my dealer do the install is that the suspension will retain the warranty and the dealer will honour it. It is the main reason I'm doing it there.

I'd much rather pay a little extra to have it done correctly. I'm not a big DIY fan especially on a new car. This way, if the struts go early or the springs make some strange noises, they are responsible and can't blame me for aftermarket parts I installed.

Chigga, I've seen it. The body kit and accessories add way to much $$$ to the price.

what the **** are you talking about?

All those prices are below average.

Call up ANY shop and ask how much it is to install four struts and dis-assemble them. See what they say.

Alignment $70? Yeah, I can see that.. but I've seen some shops charge over $100.

Eibach springs for $300 at most? right....

It took me about 4 minutes to search I just found a Eibach Pro-Kit for 281$ Cdn dollars for the 06 si and 296 for the rsx. shipped to my door oddly enough. I do agree with the $100 install at most places is not going to happen.

Dont bother dropping 1" you wont notice anything. It's rather pointless. 2" is still very daily drivable and at least you'll notice the drop.

^ lots of people will notice a 1" drop and lots wont. no point there
and 2" might be very drivable to you, but not everyone. i had a 1.75" drop on my civic and hated it. ride was too rough, had to be careful with some speed bumps and had to avoid certain potholes and stuff.

The new Civics sit pretty low already, so a 1" drop is all it needs IMO. I've seen new Civics on springs that are 2" and the tires and wheels are tucked.

Same car as mine, same sized wheels and tires with the Pro Kit springs. I think it looks great.
