selling questions for 98 civic ex

I have a 98 civic ex with 104K and it is in excellent shape. It has some door dings from a**holes too selfish to hold their doors but otherwise, it is in good shape. I do however have some rust just in front of the rear passenger wheel well (at the bottom).

Here is my question... is it worth it to get it fixed before selling? I received an estimate of around $400 to fix but don't want to do it if I won't get the money back when I sell it.

Just wondering how much people will care when looking to buy an 8 yr old car.

Any idea on the worth? From autotrader, looks anywhere from $8-$10K.

Thanks

I had my 98 Si for sale back in the fall. 160ish'K's. Mint condition, loaded, full service history, cert and e-tested, many new parts and I had it for $7500 OBO. I couldn't sell it and ended up trading it in on my 06. $8-$10K is way too much IMO.

Spending a few hundred to get a minor rust spot fixed I don't think will increase the cars value.

98 ex = 4000-5500 if mint.

400 to fix everything is cheap.

so if you want 5500 out of it then i would recommend fixing it.
if you dont mint the 4000 range area then you can sell it for less.

ya 8-10k is way to much, the 4000-5500k sounds more like it

98 civic ex

take a look at autotrader...ALL of the 98's, regardless of mileage are selling for more that you people say mine is worth!! I know that they are ASKING prices but even so, $5K for a car with only 104K seems ridiculously low.

you asked for our opinions, and we gave you our opinions on what we feel the car is worth....if you feel that our opinions are wrong dont listen and try and sell your car for 10k

I have purchased/accompanied 3 98 ex purchases in the last year and i would say Si's tend to sell from roughly 5000$-7500 depending on body, kms etc.

I think you should ask 7 and take 6gs
