I would not drive with it,as if you drive and hit a big bump, and it could cave in on you, and twist your front end.

If you want it to pass safety just slap fibreglass over it and paint over if you dont care. Otherwise, check the floors too, holes in the floor=fail safety.

u can have holes in your fenders, rockers, hood etc etc and pass no problem, just cant have holes that allow entry into the passenger compartment or comprimise safety

Then what about holes in the floors and rockers of unibody cars, which if were put on a 2 post, having holes and major rust on the floors etc would not jeprodize the integrity of the structure? I think so. I'd see if it were a conventional car, but a unibody or space frame car yeah. Say you're lifting a car with rotten rockers on a 2 post, arms on each side placed on the pinch welds from inner and outer rocker, and they're rusted, car falls off the lift because the rocker caves in, that's not a safety issue? I'm not saying you're wrong, I've just heard differently. And that's just how I understand it to be.

well if u see how honda rockers are...they are open air inside and the lift point isnt part of that rocker area...so u can lift a car by its lift points even tho the rockers are rotted out...thats why so many hondas are still allowed on the road...that or people just turn a blind eye...in anycase I've had cars with rotten rockers pass inspection

only time your car wont pass safety is if the quater panel has a hole from rust that is NEAR the attachment point of the rear bumper.

simple rule is if any part of the car is rusted IT DOESNT MATTER aslong as that part does not affect performance and is NOT holding something up that can potential come off and put you and others on the road in danger.
