Clearly 4th gen...first with dual wishbone all around, first with all fuel injected models, CRX, civic Wagon (with 4wd),light, just awesome...

Although I'd put 6th and 8th as close runners up

I have a feeling to believe that this thread is a little baised. B/c prolly most of you says the gen you currently drive now is the best one. Since no one here owns every gen out there, it's hard to compare. For example, Sal says the 8th gen in which he currently owns is the best out there. He may be right because of all the advance technologies that goes into the car, the lux toys, and a better engine. Of course it's better. If he still has his EK and not the FG, he would've said the EK. So, that's just my 2 cent.

I love my eg h/b. As far as hatch backs go EG's are theh best combo of weight and style. I like EK's better for style in coupe form, but as a h/b it's hafta have an El front clip. I would really love to have a 1st gen fully resto'd but if I could only have one, it'd be (and is) a eg h/b. It was the first car I every owned. I've had other cars since, I drove my dad's em coupe for 2 years, occasionally my grandfathers EF sedan (my fav as far as EF's go), and a few other cars before I bought my EG. the interior is better than anything 00' or older in a civic. Any perormance mods you can do to an EK can be done to an eg and net higher power to wieght ratio's as a result.

I guess someone needs to start a h/b vs coupe vs sedan poll. If one hasn't been done yet.

good point. I am ek biased, but having driven all but the the first three gens. of civic the 6th gen takes the cake. 8th gens are brand new so u gotta wait for the full verdict(very nice car tho), 4th gen is too boxy,5th gen is too round, 7th gens...yuk which brings us too the beloved 6th gen. perfect balance. not hatin' cant go wrong with any civic, just my opinion.

really close call between 4th and 6th gens, I voted 4th just cuz if I found a rust free one I'd prefer it to the 6th gen. but yeah, at the end of the day I love them all...

Even though I have a 7thgen, I gotta say 6thgen.Last civic with wishbones on all four corners, nice styling, and the 99-00 em1's. 7thgen just makes a wonderful daily with a nice interior (compared to most civics) which is why I love mine.

assuming not many ppl here have the JDM version of 6th gen then i think a lot of ppl are using "ek" in the wrong way. i got a USDM 97 LX (friggin last version be4 vtec..) and i think im gonna have to start callin it EJ6...sorry if this is trivial for you but i for one was a lil confused until now cuz im new to the scene...
i dono..is this accurate?
anyway..i dunno why i voted for the 7th gen..can i take my vote back??
