Optima yellow top batteries....

if you have a powerful audio system.... a new battery is important, but a higher voltage alternator and preferably a capacitor of 1 to 1.5 farad is important as well.... you don't want to be listening to music with your car off, wouldn't you be off the car as well most of the time?

the red top is a starting battery, the yellow top isnt really designed for it but it works fine. I have a yellow top in my car and havent had any problems with the car not starting, even in the winter.

my main concern is the cold cranking amps...I dont really know **** about it, but I know it has to do with starting the car....
so its safe to go with this battery during the winter, I'll get normal engine starts right?
my situation is this to be exact...
I have an inverter running an xbox, which I use as a dvd player, music player, and all that **** because the xbox is modded...the inverter has a warning buzzer if the battery voltage drops under a certain voltage (cant remember)...the problem is that when Im stopped at a light and the car is in idle and it drops under 1000G's the buzzer comes on...only sometimes though....
I maybe wrong, because Im not to sure, but getting this battery would get rid of the voltage drop I get from my stock battery...my system isnt really that powerful...

Thats not too good. if the warning light comes on when you stop that means your barely charging your battery at all. how many watts is your inverter?? you might need to upgrade to a larger inverter. I have a 175w running my ps2 but i am not sure if the draw is about the same though. IMO you should prolly get yourself a larger alternator. i would also recomend the use of the yellow top, they are a good battery.

it only started happening now, in the winter...so Im thinking it has to do with the weather maybe...I dont know....and it doesnt happen all the time...
my battery was also drained once, completely, before I had anything in my car...so, could it be its time for a new battery....like I said this has happened recently (when it got cold) and not so often...before it got cold I never ever got any alerts nothing, it was fine....I had all the same stuff hooked up

I just re-read your post (spazio) nothing on my car alerts me....nothing dims, no warning lights no problem starting the car...I just get the warning buzzer from the inverter (safety device I guess)...
the inverter runs 160W Continuous Oower output so that isnt a problem....
I think the battery is reaching the end its about 4-5 years old and was drained before

the battery may be on its way out. I am guessing your inverter is hooked up to your cigarette lighter. I have a ps2 hooked up to an inverter through the cigarette lighter and then buzzer will go on when the car is off but i know there is atleast an hour left on the battery.
get a multimeter and test the voltage at the battery with the car on, with the car off and with the car on and with the xbox running and see what kinda voltage you have and let us know.

well it couldn't hurt to get yourself another battery but if your putting too much of a load on it you will shorten the life span which would suck if you are paying 250 for a battery. maybe test the lighter with a multimetre to make sure you are recieving the proper voltage 12V to supply your inverter. i had a prob with that when it came to running the accesory for my head unit. was only getting 4 v for some reason. just a suggestion. good luck dude
