i would think if the battery isn't holding a charge, it is dead. normal batteries usually become useless if it drains to a certain level, sometimes could be fixed by adding distilled water but with the optima, i dont think you can do much in terms of making it "work". also, how old the optima battery, is the warranty still good?

I left my yellow top in last winter and my alarm drained it completely and it wouldn't hold a charge so I had to go buy a new battery..

go talk to the shop that you bought the battery from.
i also had the yellow top and it died on me after 1 year, 1 month. it seemed charged, but when i cranked, the voltage dropped to near nothing. Optima yellow tops for the Integra/Civic seem to crap out more often than not. i must admit though that i'm quite suprised Interstate (Optima's parent company), gave me a refund after a year when it was supposed to be 'pro-rated' and over. good luck dood! |
