one bad *** neon that srt
Those neon's srt's are gonna be killer i think i am going to have to upgrade my cvic for a talon in the near future so i don't get embaressed by one of these on the street. Sport compact magazine tested one already it put out 250 lb/ft torque on the dyno and around 225whp WOW!!! It covered the 1/4 mile in 14.2 sec and 0- 60 will give wrx drivers a run for their money 5.8 sec. It will sell for 20k US. These stock cars are getting just too quick, this sport compact industry has really developed into a huge market, next thing you know every body will be trading in their suv's for these neons haha.

I agree with NoSpleeny. Neon's aren't exactly known for their reliability, although they are getting better.
Maybe I'll race one, someday. Auto-X track ofcoarse! Where the CXR excels! (Now if the driver can only learn...)

Definitely a quick car from what I have read, but you kinda have to wonder how reliable it will be based on the Neon's poor history of reliability. The car may be cheap and fun, but it won't be much fun if its at the dealer for repairs all the time. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I will never buy an American car. Sorry. I don't care if it's the fastest car out there... never will I buy an American car.
Besides.. where in Toronto could you use that speed?
Police are cracking down on speeders doing 105 on the 400 series now.

American and Japanese car companies have different theories.
American car companies make their cars shitty quality SO... when they break down.. you are FORCED to buy a new one.. which means you may buy an American car... note I used the word "may". Therefore.. it's FORCED repeat customers.
Japanese car companies make their cars GREAT quality and last forever.. so when they break down.. if they EVER do... (much like BMWs and Benz)... you'll return to them happily knowing that your money is well spent in their quality products. This is known as SATISFIED repeat customers.
Gee.. what would you go for?

I have to agree with SiR speed on this one. Gringo cars have improved big time, but NoSpleeny is right on this one too. Hondas have Japanese Engineering and Quality Control. It doesn't really matter where the car is made, its the guys watching out to make sure everything is ok that matters.
As for the Germans, the cars are like bulletproof!
You guys ever seen the show on CP24 when they talk about cars? The guys on there cut up American cars big time! But the thing is they're right and they're able to back it up with facts.
Personally though I doubt I'd ever buy an American car. Maybe if they ever make them of "decent quality" I may, but until that day comes I'm sticking with imports, besides typically American cars aren't very fuel efficient.
The Neon isn't really anything special since its running at like 10psi (some high #), so that also makes me wonder about its reliability, but they are improving.
Just remember you get what you pay for in most cases, but to each their own.
P.S. My CRX was made in Japan!

yeah american quality is still crap, even though it's getting better imports are ahead of the game by a huge margin.... the american car market is based on you buying/leasing a new car every two years or so, while the imports will have you pay a little more at the beginning and you might not be as fast but it hasn't been unheard of to drive an import for 15 years and then buy another and pass it on to your kid or something like that, ask audiophelia, he had his civic since he bought it and now he upgraded to BMW but his car has lasted him for what 10 years now? lol and it still looks alright? look at any GM car that's 10 years old, (you'll probably have to go to a junk yard to find most of them) and if you do find one on the road it's under 100 k cuz some grandma somewhere owned it and drove it once a week, and on top of that all it's been in the repair shop 500 times and is still as ugly as hell.........
to each his own...
