Hey guys, jus joined this club recently cause I'm seriously thinking of trading in my prelude for a 96-00 civic hatchback...
I've done some searching and I'm still a bit confused cause of the differences between generations of civics and the models themselves...
can anyone give me a basic summary?
by the way, I'm thinking of putting a B18C5 or a B16a engine....anyone have any suggestions and/or advice?
Thanks

a b16a2 and b18c5 are in two differnt price categories

your best bet is to go with a b16a2 since it's the best swap for 92+ civics and with a b16a2 you can use b18c5 parts/internals on it..as opposed to the b18c1(gsr) you can't use GSR parts on a b16

for the most part EX,CX, Si are trim levels for the car. Like a CX is a base model car, less sound deadening, no power steering, no power options and its basically a car with seats and an engine (non-vtec). An Si has more sound deadening, sun-roof, power options, power steering, vtec engine etc.

Are you looking for something thats lightweight and gonna be a quick little car to drive around or u want something thats classier looking with a little more weight to it?

IMO the EK(96-00) coupe is the best coupe to come from honda, the eg(92-95) hatch is the best designed hatch and the sedan id have to say the 7th gen pretty much owns with the new front and rear lip kit.

As far as interchanging parts, 92-95 for the most part the whole cars are interchangable except he front ends are diff between the coupe/hatch and the sedan aswell as the rear ends are different between all 3 models.

for the 96-00, 96-98 has one front end style and 99-00 has a slightly different looking front end. For the most part EK's have many interchangable parts aswell.

IF your looking for speed an eg hatch would be the choice of most civic owners because there lightweight, have tons of parts available and there cheap.

it's a 92...I've had it for 5 years after my brother had 2 front-end collisions...so basically, I just want a car that's NOT been wrecked...
I was thinking of getting the EK hatchback and MAYBE put a b16a engine into it, but I'm not sure which exact model I want to get cause (I would like a sunroof and power steering though).
Thanks for the help guys
