Hey guys, i am new to this board...i am from toronto Accords....driving a 00 Accord coupe V6
what do u think about the new civic SIR ...
honestly i have been hearing a lot of bad commant about it...
and i think it's not fair,
anyways... i don't really care it is a slow *** ...because i never race anyway.... i don't care if i am driving a 200 hp accord or a 160hp civic or even 100...

personally i love the inside, and i love the outside more!...
some ppl said it looks like a mini van, looks shitty and stuff.....but tell u what, if u like japanese sport cars and u hate the so call "minivan" looks...u are outdated... honestly... most of the fun sport cars new coming out in japan are all "minivan" looks and ppl in japan are crazy about it, don't take example from like skyline and rx8 plz...we are talking about 100 something hp sport cars...
i think there will be just more more sport cars of that looks,ex.matrix?

the reason a lot of cars are starting to look like "minivans" is because of the popularity of SUV's. i dont like how the new SiR looks nor do i really like the interior other than the seats. just because people in japan are crazy about this "new-look", it doesnt mean you're out dated if you dont like it! who says we have to follow the so-called new and supposedly "in" thing?

now the new RX-8 and 350Z are hot looking cars...

personally i am not a big fan of the design aspect of the new siR. i don't like the lack of defining lines. my opinion, !

yeah it looks OK in that pic but that's its best angle. also, look how low that thing is, most cars look at least OK when they are slammed that much

I've said this before and I'll say it again, the look will grow on everyone, just like all the previous Civic generations.

I'm loving the new car. It seems like now that it's got 2000 km on it, it's loosened up a lot! It's a lot more responsive. Handling's great. I'm still trying to get some pics taken of it with a digicam, but it's a real pain in the *** because only one of my friends has one.
As for coming to a meet....I'll try and come out this summer at some point. I work 10 day stretches and afternoons so that's kind of hard too! But I'll do my best! I'll use any excuse to get out for a drive!

how come I can't see your SiR Well at least I saw the new Civic Type R in HK ....like Jugglez said, the looks will grow on you. It's like that for every car, the RSX was butt ugly when it first came out, the WRX was butt ugly when it first came out(some still think it is fugly, but I beg to differ)

Anyhow, hell all Civics are ugly cars IMO to begin with, but with car enthusiasts, it's not long before an ugly duckling becomes a swan

I still remember how many guys said my civic look ugly back in 96.
Complain about the eyes so big, complain about the tail, the door, the windows, the interior, just about ANYTHING.

To me, it's all Sour Grape.

New SiR is ok, a type R bodykit will make the car look better than any other civics, it has a very good interior and the front seats are excellent. The stick is located closer to the steering wheel, your arm travel less distance each time you shift. I say Honda has improved it quite a bit. I am sure few yrs later, most people will fall in love with that style.

Just don't under estimate it, and don't comment about the performance or handling unless you really test drove it.

If you think the new SiR look really bad, think about last time you saw one on the road and you took an extra second to look at it. Is it really ugly? or just jealous

Different people have different taste. You buy the car for yourself, you like, you buy, your call. Whocares if the whole world doesn't like it.


p.s. Respect each others HONDA, especially CIVIC

Well i've never driven one but judging from test numbers in the mags, it aint so hot.

i even went to the dealership to take yet another look at it and see if i could almost "will" myself into liking it. nope, didnt work. and trust me, it's not jealousy

but yes, obviously different people have different tastes!!

well with the JDM fad hitting full steam right now, shouldn't everyone think that the SiR is in it's "truest" sporty form right now?

Hehehe...the next to the Type R Civic...the SiR Civic hb is the fastest of the group ...so...it's fair to say that SiR is back to it's proper form in it's fastest style
